2016 Top Posts

I love the week between Christmas and New Year's. For a lover of new beginnings like me, it's heady stuff: planning, organizing and dreaming. 2017 stretches out before me like a perfectly pressed ribbon with nary a wrinkle in it, while 2016 is like a journal with its pages filled. The story has been written ...

I've been doing a review of the year's blog posts for several years now. It's always a good thing to look back and see which posts resonated most with my readers.

I look at two things: most page views and most comments. As a "words-of-affirmation" gal, comments are what I love most; but, also seeing page views let me know what kinds of posts make a reader land on it.

I've known for a long time being part of the Friday's Fave Five community, found at Susanne's Living to Tell the Story, is an important part of attracting viewers. Apparently, there are many of you who like to read about blessings in my life, and in the lives of the other F.F.F. bloggers. I'm so happy my Weekly Wrap-Up/F.F.F. posts consistently rank in the posts receiving the most comments. Thank you, Susanne and the gang, for caring enough to give feedback!

This year, however, I've discovered posts written for The Loft have the most page views - and sometimes the most comments as well. I'm really excited about 2017 at The Loft because Christine Malkemes from Whispered Words of Wisdom and I will co-hosting. More about future plans at The Loft 2017 will be shared later on in the week.

2016's Most Page Views: A piece written for Kat Bouska's Writer's Workshop ranked #1 overall. (Writer's Workshop is another linking community where I have found the freedom to share my work. I'm grateful, Kat!) The piece, entitled, Thanks Mr. Mailman, talks about the courtship days of me and the hubs. I'm glad there are some romantic souls out there in cyber-space.

2016's Post Receiving Most Comments: The post, The Challenge of Rest, inspired by reading Shelly Miller's book, Rhythms of Rest, received the most feedback. Thank you! I view each comment as a gift.

Thank you, readers, for dropping by the Journey. It makes my day when you come. I'm looking forward to what 2017 will bring.

  4. You know, I've never done a top posts post, but it is a great idea. I may have to put one together. I love that you did it by month, too. Bless you, friend.
