Day 7 - Settling In

In case you missed the beginning of my serial, Angel on Assignment:  The Book of Morgan, you can go here to start with Day 1.

“Then the man bowed down his head and worshiped the Lord …  As for me, being on the way, the Lord led me” Genesis 24, portions of 26-27

Later that evening, Kai was on his face before the King of Kings thanking and praising Him for ordering his steps.

In less than 5 earthly hours, Kai had secured an apartment, went into the coffeeshop and applied for a job, received a call back within the hour, and agreed to start work the next morning.

He’d even seen Morgan! He happened to be going by the bus stop after talking to Sam, the owner of the coffeeshop.

The old bus rumbled to the stop with the air brakes making a shrill noise as the door came open and tired workers elbowed each other wanting to get off and make their way home. Morgan was the last to step off the bus as the door snapped close behind her just barely missing the bag flung over her shoulder.

Kai stood transfixed watching the scene as Morgan passed by him. Her eyes coolly slid over him as he nodded to her. Her stiletto heels pounded the pavement just a little faster as she walked away.

“Well, that sound means at least she noticed me,” thought Kai with satisfaction.

Tomorrow, Kai planned to be very observant of the times Morgan passed by the coffeeshop. He intended to be taking a break outside sitting at one of the little café tables each time she passed by from then until his assignment was complete.

“Oh, yes, Miss Morgan, you will find it hard to ignore me!”

Thanks for joining us today! You will learn more about Kai's adventures in the coffeeshop in my serial, Angel on Assignment:  The Book of Morgan.

This serial is not intended to be doctrine. Scripture does tell us angels come to warn, bring messages and sometimes watch over us. It also tells us we could possibly unknowingly entertain an angel. My serial is just me imagining how that might look in our present day and time.

Join me tomorrow for more of the story. Each day, you can go here to see all the links for each installment of the series as they go live.

Tomorrow's offering:  First Day of Work

What do YOU think? Have you ever had a new job, or a place to live, just come together as quickly as things happened for Kai? Do you think the Lord works behind the scene to make things happen?
