Peaceable

In 2021, my goal is to lead a peaceable life.

I've heard enough name-calling, back-biting and rudeness on social media. Using words to annihilate someone is the opposite of what God wants.

The apostle Paul wrote to Titus who lived on the island of Crete, under the rule of the Roman government, and told him this:

Remind people to respect their governmental leaders on every level as law-abiding citizens and to be ready to fulfill their civic duty. And remind them to never tear down anyone with their words or quarrel, but instead be considerate, humble, and courteous to everyone. Titus 3:1-2 TPT

In the last 12 or so years, almost everyone reading this has experienced having someone in charge of the political scene who was not your choice. Therefore, this scripture applies to everyone.

You don't like who is in charge? You still have to respect then and NEVER tear them down with words.

That's a humbling admonition because I admit I feel strongly about some of the leaders. Yet I'm not to tear them down. I'm to pray for them.

Paul said it more than once; this time to Timothy at Ephesus:

Most of all, I’m writing to encourage you to pray with gratitude to God. Pray for all men with all forms of prayers and requests as you intercede with intense passion. And pray for every political leader and representative, so that we would be able to live tranquil, undisturbed lives, as we worship the awe-inspiring God with pure hearts. It is pleasing to our Savior-God to pray for them. 1 Timothy 2:1-3 TPT

Peaceable - it means leading quiet tranquil lives; but it also means interceding with intense passion for those who stir up feelings of disagreement.

In 2021, then, we are called to intercede.

Welcome to Day 20 of the #Write28Days challenge. During the month of February, I'll be examining what my world looks like after 2020. I feel we are ever closer to the Lord's return. What would it look like if I lived everyday with that thought in mind?

This could be my last February 20th before He comes.

The truth is, it IS the last February 20th for some, because He comes back every day for somebody.

It could be me. It could be you. It could be every believer.

My prayer is to leave an impact. What about you?

So then, prepare your hearts and minds for action! Stay alert and fix your hope firmly on the marvelous grace that is coming to you. For when Jesus Christ is unveiled, a greater measure of grace will be released to you. 1 Peter 1:13 TPT

  2. Being peaceable...it's hard to imagine what the world could be like if everyone took on this goal!
