Awestruck

When you are in the presence of a miracle, you can't help but be awestruck:

When Simon Peter saw this astonishing miracle, he knelt at Jesus’ feet and begged him, “Go away from me, Master, for I am a sinful man!”
Simon Peter and the other fishermen—including his fishing partners, Jacob and John, the sons of Zebedee—were awestruck over the miracle catch of fish.
Jesus answered, “Do not yield to your fear, Simon Peter. From now on you will catch men for salvation!” Luke 5:8-10 TPT

Being in the presence of a miracle done by Jesus produced one thing in Peter - the realization of his own sinfulness.

But I found it interesting that Jesus said don't yield to your fear. Then He went on and pronounced Peter's calling - influencing others to accept Christ.

Actually the defining moment when awe strikes is needed in each of our lives - to realize He is God, and we are not. Once we know we're not in charge, we're free to seek His will for the next step.

2020 taught us Who is in charge. What is your next step in 2021?

Welcome to Day 13 of the #Write28Days challenge. During the month of February, I'll be examining what my world looks like after 2020. I feel we are ever closer to the Lord's return. What would it look like if I lived everyday with that thought in mind?

This could be my last February 13th before He comes.

The truth is, it IS the last February 13th for some, because He comes back every day for somebody.

It could be me. It could be you. It could be every believer.

My prayer is to leave an impact. What about you?

So then, prepare your hearts and minds for action! Stay alert and fix your hope firmly on the marvelous grace that is coming to you. For when Jesus Christ is unveiled, a greater measure of grace will be released to you. 1 Peter 1:13 TPT

  1. So glad we aren't in charge and that God is always working behind the scenes and out in the open, too!
