Friday's Fave Five #118

The Christmas season is such a busy time!  I've been so busy that I wasn't going to participate in this week's FFF, but I just couldn't help myself!  I really enjoy this great group of bloggers.

1.  One of my favorite things is the Christmas tree.  I do hate decorating it (did you know some people put five or six trees in ONE house?), but I really love looking at the tree when it's all finished.  This year we downgraded to a smaller tree that doesn't overwhelm our living room / office so much.

Can you tell I like angels?

2.  This year's Christmas centerpiece incorporates my love of ... dishes!

3.  My next favorite is this beautiful poinsettia that I sat next to my peace plant.  Even more favored is the thoughtfulness of a friend that gave me the poinsettia.  I've always had plain red poinsettias so this unusual one is a special treat.

4.  Another favorite is anticipation! I'm off work for the next 11 days and I am excited about all the possibilities of things to be done.  I know I'll never do all the things on my to-do list, but I like dreaming about accomplishing them all.

5.  My last favorite is YOU!  I am thankful for my readers and I hope and pray that this season is the most joyous one ever.

Don't forget the reason for the season - Jesus!

  1. I love your list, and thank you.

I also love this poinsettia, two different colours wow. I'm not big on decorating a tree either, however this year has to be the best decorated tree I have ever done and I turn the lights on at night and watch it like a tv show.

Dishes... means washing to me and with a tea room and all the china that has to be washed by hand, ya no, my centrepiece is disposable, lol.

  2. Thanks Jerralea!

Busy seems to be the theme this week for most of us :) but also fun! Too bad we try and fit it all in about 3 weeks.

    Your Christmas decorations look lovely.

    Enjoy your days off!!

    Many blessings!

  3. A christmas tree with angels always look lovely. Off work for 11 days! How wonderful! It's my first time to see that kind of poinsettia. Thanks for sharing a photo. Happy Friday!

  4. I do like your poinsettia. I do not think I have seen any like that. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year! Enjoy that time off too.

  5. I am one of those weird people who love decorating the Christmas Tree. I did the one at work because my home is too small to have a tree. If we lived near one another, I'd do your tree too. :) Love the angels ornaments.

Enjoy your time off. I enjoy the anticipation part too. And I won't be able to get all my to-do's done either.

I hope your holiday and time off is blessed and peaceful.

  6. How wonderful that you have 11 days off! Enjoy. That poinsettia is really cool. You do have a multitude of angels which are never out of place at Christmas for sure :o)
May your Christmas be filled with the glory of God come down...

  7. I almost didn’t participate today either, but my daughter urged me on. :-) I’m like you—I love LOOKING at the tree, but don’t like decorating it. Yours is pretty. I have a lot of angels on my tree too. The poinsettia is so pretty. Yea for anticipation! I’m looking forward to a break too. Hope you enjoy yours to the full.

  8. What a lovely poinsettia! I don't think I've ever seen one like it.

Your angel tree is pretty, too. Enjoy your time off work, and have a wonderful Christmas!

  9. Hurray for eleven days off! Enjoy every minute.

I love to sit and look at the lighted tree in the evenings, too. It's magical, isn't?

  10. I am loving those double colored pointsetta's that are out this year. So pretty.

Your tree is lovely. I love a beautiful tree but the thought of more than one totally overwhelms me. I don't know how people do it.

  12. I can fairly faithfully SAY that THIS year I did not forget the reason for the season for even a MINUTE! My entire season has been devoted to doing Christ's work and making sure I'm understanding His direction. Sometimes we do things that we convince ourselves is His work when really it is our own desires. When we have good intentions it's hard to be SURE sometimes.

That poinsettia is beautiful - as is your angel tree! I LOVE angels too and collect them - though not ornaments. Just statues. WE never got around to putting UP a tree this year. Didn't make a bit of difference! We had Christmas at Amanda's house, and her little tree was all I needed!

Your little tree centerpiece is cute too!
