The Simple Woman's Daybook - December 21, 2010

FOR TODAY, TUESDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2010

Outside my window...
a gray day ... looks like rain.
I am thinking...of the young girl in our area that just lost her boyfriend in a wreck last night. I'm praying for God's comfort for her and his family ... We humans just don't know what to say in a time like this.  I was blessed to see how many kids facebooked her and told her they loved her and they would be there for her.
I am thankful for...the Christmas story.  I've been thinking about Mary and how hard it must have been to be the mother of God.  People gossiped about her ... she had to ride a donkey to Bethlehem while being 9 months pregnant! She gave birth in a smelly old stable with only Joseph to help. Then 33 years later she watched her child be ridiculed, tortured and murdered. But later, when she realized He had risen from the dead, she must have been the happiest mom ever!
From the kitchen...we're have extended family Christmas dinner tonight
I am wearing...jeans and my favorite lime green polo.  I'm staying home today!
I am creating...Christmas goodies ...
I am going...to my sister-in-law's tonight
I am reading...Cindy Woodsmall's "The Bridge of Peace."
I am hoping...to find a decent, inexpensive vehicle for our daughter.
I am hearing...silence, but I'm thinking some Christmas music would be good right now.
Around the house... it looks like Christmas.
One of my favorite things...time off from work in order to be home.  It's good to be home!
A few plans for the rest of the week: wrapping gifts, getting some stocking stuffers, doing some cleaning and organizing.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing..

Will my yard look like this again for Christmas?  The weatherman says there might be a possibility of a White Christmas!  (But hopefully, no ice ...)

  2. Merry Christmas to your family. I pray you find that car for your daughter, and I pray you have time to be patient. It is always amazing how God provides. Will you see your daughter that was just married over the holiday? Stay warm even if it is white...
