The Mind of Christ

Today, I'm praising God for giving the mind of Christ to those who believe on Him.

NOVEMBER 17

For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16

If you read the whole passage from 1 Corinthians 2, you see the natural man cannot comprehend the way Christians think - it seems foolish to them. But once we have accepted Christ as our Savior and we become a new creation we now can think the way Christ does.

I've been listening to an App on my phone called, "The Pause" which features wisdom from John Eldredge's writings.

One of the pauses discusses scripture for those suffering "mental anxiety." It talks about having the mind of Christ and praying to be one mind with Jesus; one thought, one imagination and one mental life with Christ. At the end, John admonishes us to "stay with that today."

Believing you have the mind of Christ takes fixing our thoughts on good, lovely and pure things. (See Phil. 4:8).

He can guide you on what to think. Letting your thoughts and imaginations run wild sabatoges having the mind of Christ.

Be careful where you let your brain travel. I said it in an earlier post; but I still believe it. You get to choose on what you think on.

For who has known the mind and purposes of the Lord, so as to instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes]. 1 Corinthians 2:16 AMP

It was popular at one time to say, "What Would Jesus Do?" Maybe we should wonder, "What Would Jesus Think?"

Praise Posts 2021 are all about praising God for scriptures that are meaningful to me. Currently, I'm sharing each day a scripture that addresses our thought lives.

I'm sharing this post at Tune In Thursday.

  1. I have been thinking alot about the power of thoughts and how our thoughts can sabotage the fruit we bear or do not bear. It all starts with the thoughts. I wish I had been taught as a child to choose my thoughts wisely. Dwelling on the thoughts rather than my actions which were a result of the thoughts was not very effective.
