To Be Where You Are

Today’s word prompt at Five Minute Friday is “where.” I immediately thought of the phrase, “To Be Where You Are,” when I saw the prompt.

WHERE

“To Be Where You Are” is the title of a book from Jan Karon and it is all about life in Mitford and the inner workings of the Kavanaugh family.

Life is better together!

And really when I think about it, “where” is just as important in life as “why” and “how.”

Where we spend our passion is just as important as how we live our why!

I write a lot about being on the Journey Home. The whole point is getting to a destination where my loved ones are: Jesus, Father God, the Holy Spirit and all my family and friends who’ve gone on before. I ache to get there!

A little foreshadowing of that longed-for time is doing life here with my loved ones.

I say all the time, “home is a haven,” but nobody wants to be in a haven alone! Oh yes, we introverts enjoy solitude, but not 24/7. A real definition of home is where you are loved and accepted for who you are.

For the Christian, there should be two homes. Your physical home with your nuclear family; but also, your church home with your brothers and sisters in the Lord.

To be where you are should mean, “I want to be where my brothers and sisters with like-minded devotion dwell. In their midst, I am loved, accepted, prayed over, and guided.

In the movie, The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy said, “there’s no place like home,” and I totally agree.

So, don't just find your "why," find your "where" as well!

  2. Home is wonderful, if it is a sanctuary. It is where your hearts is, and we should carry a little wherever we go.
