Day 9 - What's an Angel to Do?

For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.

They will hold you up with their hands

so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.

Psalm 91:11-12 NLT

Six weeks later, Kai felt he wasn’t any closer to giving the message to Morgan than from the beginning.

Oh, to be sure, he had accomplished Morgan’s noticing him every day, but the woman had iron will and would not be deterred from her travels to and from work. No small talk for her! She did not nod her head or converse with a single person during her commute. Living and working in a city numbering in the hundreds of thousands of people, it was as if she existed in a clear bubble where no one could touch her.

Oh, his time had not been wasted, for sure and certain. He'd had many conversations with humans, gently pointing out things they had not considered.

He’d been used numerous times to invisibly rescue foolish distracted drivers. Many a time, he dashed into traffic, pushing aside a vehicle that had wandered over the line into the path of an oncoming driver thereby saving two mortals from certain death – or at the least, much pain from injuries!

Then there was the day a distracted customer laid her keys on the counter to pay for a latte and then dashed off to the office.

Kai knew within the hour she would need her keys for a quick trip to the hospital to connect with her mother moments before the mother would leave Earth. It was vital that connection be made, so much so that the situation warranted a supernatural visit of an angel to drop those keys in her open, cluttery purse.

An observant human could have chased the lady down to return the keys to her, but the fact was, most humans were blind and never saw anything that wasn’t directly connected to themselves.

“It’s amazing, when you consider how much God loves these humans,” thought Kai shaking his head. “I can’t understand it.”

But the incident of Jack, Dylan and the triple-digit heat index day was proof to Kai his trip here was not being wasted.

This serial is not intended to be doctrine. Scripture does tell us angels come to warn, bring messages and sometimes watch over us. It also tells us we could possibly unknowingly entertain an angel. My serial is just me imagining how that might look in our present day and time.
