Bouquet

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads
and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him.  2 Cor. 2:14 AMP

Once, a church member brought me a bouquet picked from her garden. The purple irises were GORGEOUS! I proudly displayed them on my desk where I could enjoy them.

However, as time wore on, the smell of the irises became overpowering to me, so I moved them to the credenza across the room.

On our journey, we, who represent Christ, are like those irises spreading the beauty and fragrance of our message: Christ lives and has made a way for us to be redeemed from our sins. Not only that, but He gives eternal life and an inheritance in Him. What great news!

We should be telling this message everywhere we go on our journey.

We should also be careful to not overpower with our message by sounding "preachy" to those we come in contact.

Instead, like the iris, just display the beauty of a quiet spirit content in God.

Your world will take notice!

The Journey is our way Home. There is nothing more important than making that final destination. Jesus paid my ticket there, but I have to walk it out. I will be observing the things that happen while traveling the Journey and writing a daily post about my observations.

Because I like to stretch myself, I will also do a challenge within a challenge - 31 days of 5 minute free writes. I will take a topic and run with it, writing furiously for 5 minutes, tailoring it to relate to my theme of examining life along the Journey.

  2. Those irises are beautiful. Wonderful analogy too. May our words and action be infused by the love and grace of Jesus which when blended leave a beautiful aroma. Good to be here this morning! Blessings!
