Sunkissed Waters

I'm a creature of light. I love the warm ambiance of lamplight and candles on wintry days and clear bright skies on sunny days.

One of my favorite things is to go to a lake or river and photograph water with sunlight bouncing off its surface.

Calming ...

    Healing ...

          Soothing ....

I quietly sit by the shore. Listening. No media sounds. No traffic. The only sounds I hear are the breeze fluttering leaves, birds chirping and insects buzzing. Sometimes, the slap of a fish's tail on the surface of the water. Little waves lapping the bank.

Taking several deep breaths, I feel something inside surrender to the quiet. The thoughts buzzing by like a train clacking on the rails begins to slow. (Although, it is really hard for me to shut them off!)

"All you who work hard! All you who carry heavy loads! Come to me! I will give you rest."

I lift my face to the warmth and feel the gentle sunkiss on my eyelids - or was it the Son?

  4. Those are wonderful pictures and all look like so serene calming places to sit and meditate and just "be."

  5. You captured those quiet, warm moments perfectly. Sun kissed or Son kissed? :) It can definitely feel like a spiritual experience to be quiet in nature like that.
