Weekly Wrap-Up and F.F.F.

This has been a great week despite a few minor mishaps:  I spilled coffee on my beloved bullet journal; and I locked my car with my keys (and phone!) AND the chicken I had just picked up for our Seniors Luncheon inside. There's nothing like making an entire room full of people wait to start their dinner because their main course is held hostage inside your vehicle!

Thanks to my husband who saved the day by making record time to the church when he received my tearful phone call, "Please come help me!"

Sigh.

It's okay. I'll get over it, although I'm sure some jokester will love to tease me about it in upcoming days.

To cheer myself up, I will remind myself how incredibly blessed I am with looking for favorites to share with the Friday's Fave Five bloggers. It's a lot of fun, and it teaches you to number your days. You should participate, too! You can link up at Susanne's space, Living to Tell the Story.

1. The week started out wonderfully by our Mother's Day celebration. I always love spending time with my kids and grandkids. They all wrote me loving heart-warming sentiments in their cards to me, which is always my most cherished possessions. They blessed me with a new FitBit since mine was a used one experiencing some glitches, my favorite candies, beauty potions, wax melts and a nifty cell phone carrier. All things I love and think I need.

2.  This week went well because I planned my menu and made sure I had all my ingredients BEFORE the week started. I wish I would do that every week. It's so much easier ...

3. Love this quote shared by my blogger buddy, Karen Walden, at Hallelujah Anyhow.

If you have a mom,
there is nowhere you are likely to go
where a prayer has not already been.
~Robert Brault

You should read her blog! Also, I would like to share my own post, "My Mother."

4. Another blogging buddy really blessed me this week with her post, "Beginners All Our Lives." Michele is a master at motivating you to study scripture.

5. ANTICIPATION:  Next week is another of my famous stay-cation weeks. Hopefully there will be a couple road trips, but what I'm anticipating is just doing what I want (within reason, LOL).

And so another week on the Journey ends. How did YOUR week go? I'd love to know! Share in the comments or link up your own F.F.F. post here.

  1. Oh your Mother's day gifts sound perfect!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my fitbit!!! I challenge my neighbor and my far away college roomie (from our undergrad days!!) to the various challenges and we have so much fun seeing who is ahead in their steps :)

So glad your hubby could help you out...yikes....there's nothing worse than locking keys in a car.
I too love menu planning on the weekends to make the work week go more smooth....sadly, I neglected it last weekend and this week we have suffered for it abit. I find I spend more when I do NOT do a weekly menu plan.

I hope you enjoy the start of your stay-cation and some lovely spring weather to go with it.
    happy weekend!!

  2. Oh, I can imagine the frustration of locking your keys in the car, especially with food for a waiting event adding to it. Glad your hubby was available to help.

    What a sweet Mother's Day!

I would thoroughly love to have a stay-cation, if I could set aside the usual weekly responsibilities. Enjoy yours!

  3. Oh the older I get the more I appreciate heart felt notes. Glad you had a good Mother's day and week! Can I just chuckle a little since the locking keys story allowed your husband to be a knight in shining armor. Glad he was available. I'm glad you have the possibility of road trips next week...enjoy!

  4. I had an exhausting but fabulous week! It's bad enough the humiliation of locking your keys in your car, but for people to be waiting on you to deliver their meal, just makes it worse! I'm sure they all understood and sympathized. Of course you will get some ribbing, but remember the reason they can joke about it is because it turned out all right!

  5. Your daughters are such beautiful young women:)

My biggest fear is to be locked out of something, LOL, so I can imagine your frustration being locked out of the car with dinner in there! I actually carry my house keys in my pocket if I'm home alone, just in case I go outside and get locked out (bit paranoid I know :)

Enjoy the staycation next week! They are the best I think!

  7. My kids got me a mixer (which I needed and appreciate), but a FitBit would probably be better for the diet!!

  8. If I locked my keys in the car we would have real problems as hubby lost his set of keys a while ago! Sounds like a very nice Mother's day.

  10. I loved your post about your mom. I miss my mom every day--you are blessed to have her nearby.
Oh, I hate those mess ups--thankfully, your hubby jumped on his white horse and quickly brought his shining key/sword to your rescue.

  11. The photoshoot of your girls is wonderful! What a great memory. And hurray that your husband was near enough to come to your rescue. Some days are just like that...
