F.F.F. - 08.14.15

Hello, lovelies!  It's been a busy fulfilling week here on the Journey.  As always, on Fridays I love to pause and reflect and number the blessings of my days.

1. This week, I've been deep in preparing a study on Gideon and the 300 as told in Judges chapters 6 and 7.  So exciting! When I consider how much I can relate to Gideon, and how God miraculously used a timid leader and a tiny group of men armed with pitchers, torches and trumpets to defeat a sea of enemies ... why it gets me all worked up!  I'm thankful for the Word and the opportunity to present what I've learned at my local church.

2.  I love trying new recipes and found one this week that all my pickies like! That does not happen very often, I mean It. Is. Rare. Lemon Butter Chicken is a Better Homes and Garden recipe and can be found on my Pinterest Board, Yummy Meats. (If you are not following me on Pinterest, you should!)

3. My work week has been productive as well. I actually had one day that I had accomplished everything on my to-do list but one organizing task. (I always load my lists because I'm always thinking of something ahead that I can do.)

4. I had fun researching all my quotes to write my post, Quote Collector. Such gems I've read over the years!

5. Speaking of quotes, I must share one with you - I mean, I always give you a quote of the week, right? I warn you, this one will step on your toes!

Funerals are a good place to wake up and remember there’s a reason we are still here. There are people at our jobs, on our streets, in our lives who are lost and need Jesus.
And our real problem is what we are going to do about it.... Kristin Welch, We are THAT Family, Our Real Problem

And so ends another week on the Journey.  How did your week go? I'd love to know! Leave a comment below, or consider linking up your own Friday's Fave Five post at Susanne's space, Living to Tell the Story.

  1. Assignments done: I followed you on Pinterest. And that chicken recipe does indeed look so yummy. Glad you found a recipe all your pickies liked.

And I checked out your quotes post. I get a lot from quotes as well. Although I haven't been so good about collecting them in ONE spot.

And finally I hope you share your Gideon talk. How you described him and his "assets" is how I would describe me and mine. when will you be sharing it? You have my prayers.

  4. I had a productive week at work, too, and finished up my list. I didn't think to include it on my faves. Thanks for reminding me of another blessing!

I'm off to follow you on Pinterest and check out the Quotes page.

    Have a great weekend, Jerralea!

  8. Yum, yum, I've been looking for a new easy chicken breast recipe. Our pastor had a similar statement in his message last week. Something to really take to heart!

  9. Yay for recipes that everyone likes!! I'm cutting out most meats from my diet (only due to fat content) but I do still like a grilled piece of chicken breast once in awhile. In fact, for my family of 4, we only grill 2 breasts and only eat 1/2 each for our protein portion :) I'm going to try your recipe!!

That study on Gideon sounds like a good one and I LOVE reading all your quotes!! This one is particularly good....man....do we need to evangelize now more than ever in this country!!

    Happy weekend to you!

  11. You've been busy for good reasons. And now you can share them with us. :)
I think this reminds me also to check on my kitchen skills. It's been like forever since I actually cooked something.

  12. I am late commenting due to family birthday celebrations this past weekend. I love getting things done from my to-do list, too. I kind of keep a perpetual one going on my phone, adding and deleting from it as needed. Gideon is indeed an aspiring study - wonderful to see God can and does use anybody who is willing. I have to admit I don't think I have ever had quite that thought at funerals, but they do tend to bring into ficus the shortness of the time we have.

  13. I'm a bit late commenting, too, but I am glad you are getting so much on your to do lists crossed off. I'm working hard on mine, too.
I have signed up for a new Precepts study for the fall--Sermon on the Mount.
Great and thought provoking quote--which is what you intended, I know.

  14. Wow, finishing all your work sounds like a wonderful accomplishment. And definitely a thoughtful quote. I was just at a chorale hearing several old American gospel songs that always seem to have the theme of Heaven. Yes, we have things to do and, yes, we have somewhere wonderful to go afterwards!
