F.F.F. - 01.09.15

I've heard it said, "Better late than never." Today has been a whirlwind of activity with little time for writing.

But, my week is not complete without wrapping it up with a Friday's Fave Five post. It is good to look back and see the highlights of the week.

1. My first highlight is something I thought about today while running errands on my lunch hour.  I'm thankful to now have a vehicle with electric windows!  I was getting so tired of rolling up my window every time I went through the drive through when I drove Jim's green van. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I just love a working electric window ...

2. Last Saturday, we took a little spin to a funeral visitation about an hour and a half away in rural Missouri. (The highlight is not the visitation!) Anyway, on the way back we took a detour through Sikeston and stopped at A & W for lunch. We got root beer floats and enjoyed every last slurp.  I love those frosty mugs of goodness.  I can remember going to A & W drive-in when my brother and I were little and getting root beer in little kid sized mugs. I love doing anything nostalgic that gives me an excuse to visit my memories.

3. The twins turned 7 months old on Tuesday. Love this new photo of them taken 6 days before they turned 7 months:

4. American Idol started their 14th season this week. Liss came over and we watched it together having our favorite snack - homemade Reese's peanut butter and chocolate crackers. We DVR the shows and then once a week get together and have a marathon of the week's episodes. Love AI night!

5.  Quote of the week:

“Small things done with great love can change the world.” Mother Teresa
(seen on Walking in Grace and Beauty blog, 01.04.15)

You don't have to accomplish great things, just serve with a heart of love.

And so ends another week on the Journey. How did your week go? Leave a comment and share, or consider linking up at Living to Tell the Story, the blog site of the lovely Susanne, who hosts this weekly gathering of blessing counters.

  4. I remember those frosted kig mugs! I get together with a friend and have Downton Abbey marathons when the new series is out on DVD. We love to watch DVDs together. My back driver electric window is not working and has to be repaired. The twins are adorable!

  5. I am thankful for electric windows, too! I can remember having to crank them up and down.

I remember A&W too! We don't have one near us now but did near our former home - it wasn't quite as good as my memories, but still good.

    The twins are so adorable.

  6. Oh it's been ages since I've had a root beer float! Love the almost 7 month photo of the twins! Electric windows do come in handy. Hope your weekend is going well.

  7. Yum on the root beer floats; haven't had one in ages!! I too enjoy American Idol; glad you have someone to watch it with and make it an "event" when you do so :)

  9. OH those twins!! so cute!! YAY for A and W rootbear!! Our closest one is about an hour away up in Lake George..a very touristy village in the eastern Adirondacks. There's also a really GOOD one..the kind where you can go in and sit...up near Whiteface Mountain (about 2 hours north of us in the high peaks region of the Adirondacks). when I am hiking up that way in the summer months I stop in. It's only opened from April until October. I just LOVE their frosty mugs of goodness :) thanks for the memories :) Happy Weekend!!

  10. Those are some seriously adorable little ones!
Isn't it funny how we take things like electric windows for granted. Remember when nothing was electric??

I love this memory. It's not mine, but I'm enjoying it nonetheless. ;-)

I love that quote by Mother Teresa--small things done with great love--sometimes all we can do are small things.

  15. I loved the memory you shared of going to A & W as a child and the feeling you get going now. The last statement of that thought was so especially beautifully said.

Enjoyed all of your post and that true and amazing quote. I have always loved that because of how true you realize that is when you think about it.

And those precious faces are just so cute! It is hard to believe they are already 7 months old when it seems like just yesterday you shared about them being born.

    Have a wonderful week, Jerralea!
Blessings to you and I hope you year is off to a wonderful start,

  16. Hi Jerralea! Sounds like you had a pretty nice week! It's good that you can have a fun time at the A snd W, after being traveling so far for a wake.
The twins are adorable! I bet they are getting their own little personalities too.
Your AI night sounds like so much fun. I used to watch that show all the time, but now I let it drop. It's really great to follow the talent through all the weeks. The homemade peanut butter cups sound fantastic! Maybe you could share your recipe???
    Blessings,
    Ceil
