Turn Your Eyes

I remember a day when I was heartbroken.  I was sitting crying and I turned my face into the back of the couch to stifle the sound of my sobs.  I can still see those blue and peach colored flowers of that long-gone couch. I was crying with fear and hopelessness because I felt the burden of my husband's illness.  I didn't know what to do. How would we ever raise these children with the few resources we had?

Looking back, I have to smile now at the drama of that moment.  Did I not realize I had the greatest resource a girl would ever need?  The Lord has been with me every step of the way and helped us. The girls are raised and on their own now, and He still continues to be there - if I just open my eyes and look.

One of my favorite songs is the chorus "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus."  I love the line, "and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace."  

No matter what you are facing, He has enough grace to get you through it, if you just turn to Him!
