Lost without Direction

LOST

Have you ever been lost before?  I have!

My husband and I are what you call scenic travelers.  We miss our exit the first, sometimes the second or third times around, and get to view much more scenery than we first intended.

It's aggravating when that happens because once again, we know we will be late at arriving at our destination.

I don't get too worried, however, because we've got a GPS, or maps, or directions printed out.  Why, if worse comes to worse, we could even stop somewhere and ASK for directions.  Well, at least, I could do that since hubby is like most men and does not want to ask.

It's a far worse thing to be lost and not know where you are going in life. Wandering aimlessly in life just means one thing:  you won't like where you end up.

Fortunately, you, too, can consult somebody.  You can find direction in God's Word.  I just happen to be one of those who believe that all scripture is inspired by God and profitable for correcting.*  If you are on the wrong path, consult God's word.  It will tell you what you need to do.

STOP

  1. While on vacation, Ole Boy and I are known to purposely take a longer route just for the scenery!

I wish folks who were so at odds with themselves could understand the peace that God provides.

  2. What did we do before GPS? My husband's mom's cousin and her husband just hop in the car and see where they end up. If they see a town they want to stop in, they stop! It seems like an interesting idea. I don't know if I could ever do it, though.

  4. I too agree about scripture being inspired by God and the answer to every single one of life's problems is in the Bible. We just have to read it; wish more people understood that.

  5. I hate getting lost especially if I'm traveling solo. I'm not above asking for directions though! I'm so thankful for God's directions too. Being lost in life is far scarier than being lost on the road. Have a great weekend.

  6. This is a great reminder! Thanks!

Your mention of being a scenic driver reminded me of something that we did several years ago. We were driving from Niagara Falls to New Jersey. I was giving my husband directions, and I chose a route that turned out to be off the highway. ALL the way across New York. It may have been a shorter distance, but it took forever. Now my husband checks the directions first.
