I mess up a lot. I don't think I'm alone in creating messes. Often with the best of intentions, but not thinking it through, I'll jump into something and discover that instead of making things better, I made it worse. (I especially create a mess with my tongue ...)
I really need to stop and pray before I do anything. I tell myself that all the time. Yet, again and again, I discover I neglected to do just that.
I'm so thankful that God understands me and makes provision to help me out. I love how Eugene Peterson paraphrased it in The Message:
"Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be.."
What a gift He is to the believer! Let's be honest and admit we need Him every day. On my best day, on my own, I'm still a mess. But I have hope, with Him helping me, there is restoration. I can still become His masterpiece.

I found your blog through the Five Minute Friday linkup page. I love your hopefully, uplifting take on mess and your obvious passion for God and His word. Thanks!
