Daybook: 02.03.14

FOR TODAY, THE FIRST MONDAY IN FEBRUARY

Outside my window... snow on the ground... 14° ... yet sunshiny.  The beams of the sun make the snow look like 7-minute icing on a cake.
I am thinking... I better make it to the office today, because tomorrow there is ice predicted.  I do NOT drive on ice.
I am thankful...for all that God has done for me.  I never want to take for granted the many blessings He has given me.
Praising God ...for a teenager, who in the middle of last week's bible study wanted to know if she could accept Jesus right then; and,  for a brother who has returned to our church family.  Restoration is sweet!
In prayer for ... my young mom friend who still needs a better job.
In the kitchen... homemade pizza tonight.
I am wearing... purple jeans, aqua top with a purple, aqua and lime green scarf.  I have on my cognac boots and TWO pairs of socks.
I am creating... 2014 files and binders.  This time of year appeals to my organizational side.
I am going... to stay home as much as I can this week.
I am wondering... about my twin grands who are going to be born this year.  We were supposed to find out their gender last week but the equipment at the doctor's office was not up to the task.  Next week, my daughter is seeing an ultrasound specialist with a 3D machine.  We shall probably know then.  However, Janae said the babies were fine because they could see them fighting!
I am reading... Pursuit of God by Tozer still.  I got sidetracked there for awhile!
I am looking forward to... spring and a road trip ... to anywhere!  LOL
I am learning every day my weaknesses and how much I need His strength.
Around the house... a new table decoration that can be used for different seasons and holidays.  (I'll share a photo soon, it's not quite completed.)
I am pondering... my pastor's sermon in which he asked the question, "How can you make an impact if you do nothing? We can always pray, give a word of encouragement and use the gifts and talents God has given us.  (And we all have a talent!  Don't let the enemy make you believe you have none.)
A favorite quote for today... "Don't get stuck on stupid."  Rev. Ellston Chapman
If you keep making the same mistakes, it's time for a different approach!
One of my favorite things... snow days - I cannot lie, I love an excuse to stay home!
A few plans for the rest of the week: working on a bible study on 1 Peter 2, and I really want to be sure to catch up on my blogging.  The last two weeks kept me so busy I missed posting on my regular schedule. Also, this Thursday will be our 38th wedding anniversary!  I'm not sure how we will celebrate.  Planning at the last moment is how we roll around here.
A peek into my day...

  1. I like your description of the snow as 7-minute icing! We've had lots of bitterly cold weather, but no snow to speak of here. Blessings to you.

  3. I don't drive on ice either. We had such a dangerous situation a little south of me last week in Birmingham. Several days later when we drove through, it was still littered with hundreds of cars on the side of the road.

"I am going... to stay home as much as I can this week." I can relate to that. I do enjoy going out, but I love my home-time as well.

How exciting to find out the genders soon of your twin grands!

Love the picture of the blue hour. Have a great weekend, Jerralea.
