Daybook: 12.30.13

FOR TODAY, THE LAST MONDAY OF 2013

Outside my window...
sunny and 18°

I am thinking...about the wonderful news that we are becoming grandparents of TWINS in June ... So what do you think?  Should I be called grandma, nana, grana, or grammy?  Let me know your thoughts in the comment section.

I am thankful...the deer we hit with our van last night did no damage.  This was our second close call in a week.  It's dangerous to be driving out in the county at night.

In the kitchen... chicken and dumplings tonight.  Comfort food for a cold day.  I'm glad I already have both the chicken and the dumplings made in the freezer.

I am wearing...red top, white cardi, and a zebra print scarf trimmed in red.  I'm also wearing black boots and black jeans... Yes, I forgot and wore black again on Monday!

I am going... to put up new curtains in the living room once the tree is taken down.  Can't wait!

I am reading..."Derailed," by Neta and Dave Jackson.  You should seriously read all their books, especially the Yada Yada Prayer Group series by Neta.  I highly recommend them.

I am looking forward to... January 27 when we find out the gender of the twins.

I am learning ... that people CAN speak up and make their voices heard.  So glad to hear that A & E is reinstating Phil Robertson!

A favorite quote for today
...

1 Peter 1:13  Holman Christian Standard Bible

Therefore, with your minds ready for action, be serious and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Set your hope on grace - oh, I am so so thankful for grace!

One of my favorite things... babies in onesies.  I'm going to buy the twins animal print onesies. I think animal print is appropriate whether they are boys or girls.

A few plans for the rest of the week: taking down the Christmas tree on Wednesday ... and hopefully something fun on Saturday!

A peek into my day...

Although we don't use this angel as a tree topper anymore, we still like to set her out.  Her colors change every minute or so.

  1. I read your other post but never congratulated you on your news! I know you must be so excited! Whatever name you decide on make it easy so they can learn to say it quickly :) And I must agree, I enjoyed the Yada Yada Prayer Group books as well.

  2. Twins...oh my! I vote for grammy. We had an adopted grammy in our life and she was a peach of a lady. I took care of her when my boys were babies and we love and miss her so. Do twins run in either family or was everyone surprised? Double the fun! Can't ever get too much of that baby lovin! Congratulations and Happy New Year

  4. Change is good, I'm about to take down my tree and wish I had new curtains, lol. Funny we had Chicken and dumplings this past week and the kids both phoned me and asked me to make it and I had already. I'm congratulating you on the twins again, it will be so much fun. Lucky you grandma
