No Doubt

When we pray, God wants us to ask in faith believing.  James, in the Bible,  tells us:

"But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."

If you are like me, you want to believe, it's just hard when everything is screaming at you that God does not care.

I think God knew we would have times of uncertainty so He included in the bible the story of the man who wanted Jesus to heal his son. When Jesus told him all things were possible to him that believed, the man cried with tears rolling down his face, "Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!"

Isn't that amazing?  He asks us to believe and then goes ahead and helps us do it!

In another passage, He tells us that if we have faith the grain of a mustard seed, we can move mountains.

So, next time you have a need, ask in faith.  If doubt raises its ugly head, remind yourself you have as much faith as a mustard seed.  Ask Jesus to help you with it.  It will be enough.

  1. I don't have trouble with the faith factor... nor really the doubt because I know God can do anything. But, what if what I am praying for is not God's will for my life? Then is when I doubt that I should "get or receive" what I am asking. So I always ask in my prayer "may Your will be done in this situation".

I am really enjoying your 31 Basics for Believers! Thanks for sharing them.
