F.F.F. - 08.16.13

It's been a busy whirl of activities lately, so I missed last week's posting of Friday's Fave
Five.  Already, I have forgotten what happened last week ...

This week was busy as well, but I want to take a moment to remember some good things.

1.  Cool weather!  I'm loving these cool days.  For some reason we have been having days where the high just barely hits 80° and the nights have been in the 60s.  Great for the a/c bill and so lovely to enjoy.  The hubs and I definitely want to go on a road trip tomorrow to delight in the wonderful air.  Hope it lasts all the way to winter!  (Well, a girl can hope, can't she?)

2.  Finished 15 weeks of exercising:  Although I've only a 4 lb. loss for the last 4 weeks, it feels good to know I didn't quit.

3.  Closing Date:  At long last, our oldest daughter finally has a closing date on her house. We are so delighted for her and can't wait to see all her home furnishing dreams come true.

4.  Other family news:  Malia found an apartment and Janae got another dog!  (That makes 2 for her and 1 for Malia.)  Mercy!  We never had any animals so it is amazing that I now have 3 grand-dogs! LOL.

5.  Jim found this week's quote on a picture on facebook:

"Holding a grudge is like letting someone live rent-free in your head."
(I googled this and it seems Ann Landers was first to say this.)

Think about it ... when you are filled with resentment, you are mulling it over constantly while the other person is going about their life carefree and not even knowing you are upset!

And so ends another week on the Journey.  I hope you are having a great week and that you choose to share the highlights with us.  Either leave a comment or link up at Susanne's blog, Living to Tell the Story.

  1. Hi Jerralea! Congrats on the sale of your daughter's house, that is so exciting! Especially in this economy.

I agree with your husband's quote whole-heartedly. Yet, I rent out my head way more than I should! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I always love to see you!

  3. Hello Jerralea! I've been trying to leave a comment since using the Blog Lovin' app and it wouldn't allow me to do so. I happen to think that maybe I could go to my dashboard on Blogger and get to you that way! It worked!

I know why the Lord put you in my path! It's watching your faithfulness in your fitness program that I need as encouragement to help me get started. Fifteen weeks of exercise completed is something to be excited about!

I enjoy your blog so much!

  4. Oh, Jerralea
I often wonder if we are allowing grudges against ourselves to be unwelcome squatters is our minds! Love to you XX

  5. Wish we had some of that cool weather down here in S FL! It'll be awhile for us. 15 weeks of exercise? I'm impressed!

Love that quote. Have you read any of Charles Martin's books? His blog post today is on this subject, and it's great. Here's a link: http://charlesmartinbooks.com/blog/entry/my_big_steaming_putrid_pile

  6. Congrats to your girl on attaining home ownership!

Love that quote. It's so true. And forgiveness has nothing to do with the other person. It's about your heart and attitude.

    Enjoy your cooler weather!

  7. Cool weather? Yikes, to me 80 is up there! We were sitting in the mid 80's this weekend and I was melting. Yay for your daughter's closing date. Good on you for not quitting the exercising. That is so awesome to go that long!

  8. Your new profile pic looks great!

I can relate on the closing date and grand-dogs...my youngest finally closed on his first house this past month...and he and his wife have both told me that they will always have plenty of grand-dogs for me to love on!

    Have a wonderful week!
