Don't Fall

FALL

You can fall out of favor, but fall into sin.

We say that Adam and Eve fell.  They fell into sin.  They fell out of that perfect communication with God.  We talk about how perfect the world was before the fall. Even nature has suffered since the fall of man. Because of Adam's sin, the Lord cursed the ground. (See Genesis 3:17)

The phrase, "falling into sin" evokes a mental picture of someone walking along - not paying attention - then BAM, he stumbled and fell into a pit of sin.

In a way, that is exactly what happens - sin is waiting for one that is not paying attention.  It reminds me of this scripture:

Mark 14:38

Good News Translation (GNT)
38 And he said to them, “Keep watch, and pray that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

It pays to be vigilant and aware so that we can see the traps the enemy has laid before us.

Pay attention! Don't fall!

STOP

(Last week, I had internet issues and fell behind on my to-do list.  I did write my 5 minute post by hand on a steno pad but never got time to transcribe my post and link up.  I see that the link is still open, so I thought, "Better late than never!")

Five Minute Friday

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

Sounds like fun, yes?  If you want to join us, go to Lisa-Jo Baker.com.

  1. I like your thoughts about keeping vigilant. I so need to do this.

Also - as a perpetual late poster - the link is open until sometime on Thursdays always, to allow slackers / procrastinators like me to still get in.

Have a great day. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
