Daybook-05.13.13

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, MAY 13TH

Outside my window..
.shiny day, 56°, finishing up a FROST ADVISORY! And tomorrow is supposed to reach 85°  Its confusing to know what to wear ... I have my heater on under my desk!

I am thinking...of how I love life.  God is so good to me!

I am thankful... for three healthy beautiful daughters

In the kitchen...chicken in a crockpot.  We're having dumplings tonight.

I am wearing... black jeans and an animal print top my daughter gave me for Mother's Day.

I am creating... a work schedule to free my Saturday afternoons up

I am reading... "The Search" by Shelley Shepard Gray, book 2 of her The Secrets of Crittenden County serires.

I am looking forward to.
.. an afternoon road trip on Saturday with friends.

I am learning ... that if you want to stir up controversy, just post that you believe in complementarianism ...

Around the house... some flowers need to be planted!  The containers are ready, but I've not had time to go buy any flowers ...

A favorite quote for today...
All Christians should be like the first century Bereans who studied the Scriptures daily to separate truth from error (Acts 17:11).
…David Jeremiah, Turning Point Devotional, “Test the Spirits”, May 13, 2013

One of my favorite things... seeing my children excited about life.  Janae is loving living in Colorado, Malia is excited about her new job that she starts next Monday, and Elissa just graduated with her Masters degree from SIU and is in the process of buying her first house.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I'm working at home this week, board meeting Thursday, road trip Saturday.

A peek into my day...

I love container gardens filled with a mixture of flowers.
This beauty was found at the Laura Ingalls Wilder home in Mansfield, MO.

The daybook is a concept created by Peggy Hostetler.  You can link up at her blog, The Simple Woman's Daybook.

  1. Oh, dear! Did you release a firestorm with a recent post? Every once in a while I will send some thought that seems harmless enough to me out into the world via this computer only to have it come back to haunt me! All it takes is one passionate person who disagrees to really stir the pot.
