Time to reflect on the good things the past week has brought.
1. The big news of the week is that our daughter, Elissa, is buying her first house! Her offer was accepted and now the dreaming stage is becoming a reality. If all goes well, the paperwork should be done by the time school is out and then her work is cut out for her (and Jim). I am planning to serve in an advisory position! There will be lots of painting and decorating going on ...
2. Sunday night brought us a time of sweet fellowship in the Holy Spirit at church. I love times like that, and need it so desperately, especially in times of bombings and explosions in our world. Without the comfort of the Holy Spirit it would be easy to be filled with fear and gloom.
3. Spring has been playing with us, teasing us with days of sunshine, then retreating back to frosty mornings and windy rainy days. Hubby and I have been planning a couple container gardens and will be purchasing another knock-out rose bush, this time in pink. I couldn't wait, so I got some hanging baskets of pansies. I love pansies.
4. I had a little fun writing limericks this week. If you haven't seen them, you can view them here: Home: My Favorite Place on Earth.
5. Quote of the week:
marilynmeberg @marilynmeberg
For those times when feeling the past, present or future
is fear-producing: "God you are my security; one step ahead of me with
mercy" Ps 59
… seen on twitter
I thought in light of this past week's national events in the States, this quote might be comforting.
This ends another week on the Journey. If you'd like to join in sharing your 5 highlights, visit Susanne at Living to Tell the Story.
On step ahead of me with mercy--love that!
ReplyDeleteYour limericks were fun to read and I completely agree with you on HOME.
Forever Family: in a fostering situation, sometimes, people (like my daughter and son-in-law) can adopt the children they're fostering. That's what we're hoping for.
Oh i LOVE all your limericks...especially the last one! My mom (she died in October suddenly) had pansies all the time during the spring and summer months..they were her favorite flowers besides roses.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a sunny warm weekend and Amen to that quote...brings comfort in these scary days, for sure to know God is "one step ahead with mercy"
Spring is definitely being a big tease around here too. We were the hot spot in Alberta yesterday and today we're expecting snow mix. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your daughter's first home purchase. Exciting times!
CONGRATS to your daughter! How exciting for all of you :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that you've included the comforting work of the Holy Spirit in times of sadness and turmoil.
