As a little girl, I was always filled with enthusiasm. If something good happened, I would jump
up and down and clap my hands for joy.
I don't know when I quit doing that ... but let's face it, you don't see adults jump for joy.
But why not?
Shouldn't we still have enthusiasm for life? Especially those of us who are Christians, shouldn't we be filled to overflowing with the joy of the Lord that sometimes we can't help but give a little "hop" of praise?
There used to be a guy who would come down to the altar to pray during the worship service at one of my previous churches. He would get so overcome with praising God, he would begin to jump with his arms raised up in the air, looking for all the world like a human pogo stick.
The more I think about it, the more I think I should be willing to do the same. Jumping for Jesus seems like the least I could do to express my joy in what He has done for me.

On Fridays, I join the community at 5 Minute Friday who write for 5
minutes on the word selected by Lisa-Jo Baker. Here are the rules:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..
Sounds like fun, yes? If you want to join us, go to Lisa-Jo Baker.com.

yes indeed~jump for joy with Jesus. God is good and I was recently reminded that He loves to see our enthusiasm. I was worshipping in Haiti during a time of Praise and at the end the entire church engaged in a time of dancing, singing, jumping and waving their arms in praise/joy/worship.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the God work.
You are so right, keep up the good work on your blog
ReplyDeleteJerralea,
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on He Cares for Us. And yes I used to jump in when it wasn't the right time. Now I know when to jump as I listen to Jesus.
Blessings,

So true - that is surely the least we can do! Great post. Stopping by from FMF.
