On
Fridays, I love to stretch myself by participating in Lisa-Jo's 5
minute Friday blog party. Lisa-Jo gives us a word and we write for 5
minutes, writing from the heart, and not doing endless revisions of what
we have written. Just plain and simple off-the-cuff writing. Visit
her at her blog, Lisa-Jo Baker: tales from a Gypsy Mama, if you would like to participate.
Today's word is:
AGAIN
The first thought that came to my mind when I saw the word was "again," was the song "He'll Do It Again." I've heard it sung by Karen Wheaton many times and it has always touched me.
So often, we think that God won't be willing to forgive us again, or extend mercy again, but that is not true. He says that there are new mercies every morning.
For His children, He will do what needs to be done, again and again. He's not just the God of second chances, He is the God of a Thousand Chances.
After all, Jesus told Peter we must forgive seventy times seven. Some feel the language used means actually seventy times seven A DAY. Would our God do any less than He requires of us?
I'll end my five minutes by pasting in this post the lyrics to He'll Do It Again. Enjoy!
You may be down and feel God has somehow forgotten
You are faced with circumstances
That you can't get through
Tonight it just seems there's now way out
In natural you could just go under
But God has proven time and time again
He'll take care of you
He'll do it again
He'll do it again
You just take a look where you are now
And where you've been
He'll see hasn't He always come through
For you
He's the same God has always been
You may not know how,
You may not know when
But He'll do it again
He knows the things that you're going through
He knows how you're hurting
He's been there and
He understands how your heart
Has been broken in two
He's the God of the stars
The sun and the seas
That God is your Father
Tonight He can calm the storm
And He'll find some way to fix this for you
He'll do it again
He'll do it again
You just take a look where you are now
And where you've been
He'll see hasn't He always come through
For you
He's the same God has always been
You may not know how,
You may not know when
But He'll do it again
( As made popular by Karen Wheaton or Shirley Caesar - I couldn't determine which one actually wrote it!)
Great insights! And a lovely song for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is just beautiful. God does forgive us again and again - as we are to do to others.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this wonderful reminder.
