In Which I Share My Pressure Cooker Riblets Recipe

Recently, I shared how popular my pressure cooker green bean dinner recipe was and promised to post another pressure cooker recipe.

I use this recipe at least once a month,

Pressure Cooker Riblets

Start with boneless country style ribs.  I call these riblets because they are so much shorter than regular ribs. Rinse them and place in the bottom of your pressure cooker.  Mine is a six quart cooker with a 15 pound pressure weight attached.

Sprinkle with dried onion flakes and garlic powder. (Sorry, I don't measure this, I just sprinkle.) I use this brand from Wal-Mart because it is so economical.

Add approximately 2 cups water and seal the lid on.

Place pan on stove and cook on high until you hear the pressure weight jiggle as the steam comes out.  Turn down to about medium high and pressure-cook for 15 minutes.

Then turn the burner off and let the steam escape for 5 minutes.  At the end of 5 minutes if the lid won't come off easily, put pan in sink and run cold water on top of lid.  Lift up pressure weight and let the last little bit of steam escape.  Once that is done, the lid should turn easily.

Next, drain riblets and place on a broiler-safe pan.  Spread the top of the ribs with desired barbecue sauce.  Our favorite is Sweet Baby Ray's original sauce:

Then put under broiler.  Broil approximately 6 minutes.

Take out from under the broiler, salt and pepper the tops of the riblets, then turn over and coat the other side with barbecue sauce.

Broil an additional 6 minutes.

I like it when it has some crispy looking places on the meat.  But don't let it get too crispy!

Yum Yum!

We like to serve ribs with baked sweet potatoes, baked beans and corn.

Today, I'm linking up this recipe with Jen at Balancing Beauty and Bedlam.

  3. oh my goodness! I may have to try this one. I am terrible at ribs because they come out like shoe leather! My Grandmother recently gave me a pressure cooker! I can't wait to try it.

  5. Your ribs look delicious. I have never used a pressure cooker though. Wonder if I can achieve the same results using a my crock pot?
