Friday's Fave Five #89
It's time for Friday's Fave Five! Visit Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and share about this week's highlights.
1. Last Saturday, I went to my first garage sale of the season with one of my daughters. (It was my first free Saturday.) We had lots of fun and I found several things on my "garage sale wish list." I didn't take any pictures though ... why is it that I always forget to do that?
2. New fave pizza: My hubby and I tried Digourno's new Pizza and Breadsticks combo. We got the Supreme. It was really good, and I see myself stocking several in the freezer for those days when I'm too worn out to cook.
3. Unfortunately, this week I came down with a sinus infection (which is NOT a fave!), but I'm grateful for earned time off so that I could stay home a day, and also for Alka Seltzer Plus Cold formula tablets. They help me better than anything I've tried so far.
4. My hubby grilled some meat for us for the first time this year. I love when grilling season starts. This year, I plan to be a little more adventurous with grilled foods.
5. Quote of the week: "He who sings his own praise is usually off key." - Unknown
BONUS: I won the giveaway at Nancy C's blog, "Homemade Blessings"! I've been enjoying Hershey's Kisses all week long (I only eat a couple at a time to savor them), and as soon as my sinuses get back to normal, I'll enjoy the Yankee candle, too. She also included a book and some fun fabrics! I love me some giveaways ...

I LOVE The Grilling Season!!
ReplyDeleteCraig has been out doing it a couple times and I even got Shrimp Kabobs for Mother's Day!!
Enjoy your Kisses and Candle. Hope you feel better soon!
OK...I really like that quote!! I think I'm going to make it my facebook status today.
ReplyDeleteGlad you could take a day off and that you've found something that gives you relief...
It's fun that garage sale season has begun. My daughter and I are having one next Saturday...kind of scares me.
Yippee for grilling!!
That is a great quote!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning the giveaway...every week is better with a little bite of chocolate....
I like grilling, too. But the first time we tried it a few weeks ago, we discovered there's a problem with the grill. Haven't had a chance to look into it - but you're inspiring me to move on that! *grin*
ReplyDeleteI love the grilling season also. And, I hope that you are feeling better real soon. Being sick is never fun but it seems worse in the nice weather.
ReplyDeleteOh, sinus infections are the pits. Hope you are well on the road to recovery by now. The only plus side to those for me is that I stay up late reading (since I can't breathe so I can't get to sleep). Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t been to a yard sale yet this season, but I know my husband is itching to get out there. Yum—I love Digourno’s anyway, so I know I’ll love that combo. I love the quote! Congrats on winning the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful week you've had, and I can't wait to use my grill again. Feel better soon!

ReplyDeleteI should check my spelling before I hit publish. I had a typo and I hate that. Sorry for the deleted comment!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I had pizza, but when I do I always order a supreme or a super supreme. Grilled meat fit my needs better at the moment. Grilling season = Summer, doesn't it? I hope you'll feel better soon, because Yankee candles are really very very nice!
Have a great weekend!
We're loving the grilling season too. I'm going to learn how to do veggies this summer.
ReplyDeleteI really like yard sales - we have a 70 mile one in the fall in our area - the place goes crazy with people and traffic!
Sorry to hear about your sinus infection - hope you're better soon. Chocolate is good medicine :)
Great quote. Made me laugh at the truthfulness of it.
ReplyDeleteSorry you had a sinus infection but glad you were able to get that time to just get better.
Congrats on the giveaway. Enjoy all your prizes.
Great quote! I'm going to go over to Ellen's facebook and read it there too!
ReplyDeleteGrilling season and chocolate. Life just doesn't get any better.
Oooh.. I love when we can start grilling outdoors, too! I'm currently trying to decide our meals over the holiday weekend and I can promise you the majority of them wil be cooked on the grill :)
