"For even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces, My love won't walk away from you, my covenant commitment of peace won't fall apart. The God who has compassion on you says so" Isaiah 54:10 The Message
Now THAT'S commitment, y'all!
Yes, there might be earthquakes, but He will still be there. Things might fall to pieces, but He will be there offering you wholeness.
I like the sound of that phrase - covenant commitment of peace. He's committed to peace. When everything seems in an uproar, when voices of defeat are harping at us, He will be speaking words of peace.
Sometimes, He even has us go through a time of exile ... but it's only temporary. He has compassion on us. Compassion means sympathy, but it's more than that. It's also a desire to alleviate the distress.
You see, He has promised, even decreed that for God's servants everything works out for the best.
Everything.
Will you trust Him?
Jerri, we again are on the same wavelength! I was sitting here with tears in my eyes as I read your post because it is exactly what I needed to hear and very similar to what I wanted to post about on my own blog. I'm still trying to come up with the right words. My husband could really use your prayers right now because he definitely is allowing Satan to get the best of him right now. He has been feeling for awhile that God isn't answering his prayers. It is hard to watch him struggle and I know I only made it through last week because of the verse God gave me at the beginning of the week (that I did blog about): Psalm 16:8 - "I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken."
ReplyDeleteGod has been taking me to Isaiah quite a bit recently.
ReplyDeleteIt is always good for me to be able to remember who God is and what he can do.
Most importantly, it is good to see his promises and know that he is trustworthy to keep them.
Thanks... Agan this is a great reminder of how much God loves us.. Just what I needed no matter what year it is!
