NOVEMBER 9
During this Praise Post season, I must show gratitude for John 10:10. It's truly one of my favorites.
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). John 10:10 AMPC
Just as we talked yesterday about blessings overflowing, this scripture says our life should be abundant and overflowing.
I love how the AMPC translation put the phrase "and enjoy life." Years ago, I left the office to go run an errand. I usually use driving time to pray and praise; but that day I was upset about something. You might say I was "stewing" over some things. In other words, I was building my anger into a slow boil. I can't even tell you today what I was angry over; but that emotion has stuck in my memory bank.
Suddenly, the thought came, "I don't need to be upset about this. The Lord wants me to ENJOY my life, not be torn up over things out of my control."
It was an epiphany! As soon as I acknowledged the Lord wanted me to enjoy life, it was like I had turned the flame off under the pot of my coming-to-a-boil anger. I looked around me as I was driving. It was a gorgeous day, a day so pretty, it would be a shame to waste it on being upset.
I wish I could say I've never stewed in anger again; but what I can say, I've grown in understanding regarding a rich and an abundant life. He didn't come to make things harder on us; but to take our burdens upon Himself.
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10 NLTA thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect —life in its fullness until you overflow! John 10:10 TPT
What are you enjoying about your life right now? Please share and uplift others. For me, I'm digging the fall colors, and the beautiful days the Lord has given.

Oh this is SOOOO Good Jerralea! I honestly never viewed it quite like that. I definitely "stew" over a good many things beyond my control when I could be enjoying life! Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. When we stew, we truly miss out on what is right before us to be enjoyed. This morning I am enjoying the stillness and the soft hum of the heat coming up. Thankful both bring me His peace!
