The Journey's Check-Up #10

Otherwise known as
 “A Journal of Reflection”

The cool thing about making your own meme is you can revise it anyway you want! Today, I'm combining a couple categories in my Journal of Reflection:

Share something that made you smile / and share a favorite picture.

My new cupcake tower I bought for Family Night Fellowships. We want to recognize birthdays of the month, and I thought this was a fun way to do it.

Share a win from this week

I’ve been working on de-cluttering my Saturday schedule. This past Saturday promised to be a busy one. I made sure I did my last chore of the day (the one I put off doing until all the other boxes are checked) before I left home to do. All. The. Things. When I got home at o’dark thirty, I was so very glad that chore was done. I could relax!

Share a great quote /something that made you think

Keep making things, knowing that much of what you make will be bad. And the only way to get to your very good work is to get through the very bad stuff first.” Jeff Goins

I want to get to the very good work, so I’m going to keep writing.

How about you? Keep honing your craft whatever it may be. Perhaps all you can do is give hugs and pray for people. We need you! Keep hugging and praying until you’re the very best hugger and prayer warrior you can be!

Share a song or a scripture that ministered to you (These thoughts came to me after my scripture writing assignment of 2 Chronicles 7:14-15.)

Here’s the way to make America great again:

"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

I see a couple takeaways from this scripture:

First of all, this is spoken to God’s people. It would be different if He said, “If the heathen turn from their wicked ways, then I’ll their land.” No, the heathen can’t be expected to turn from their wicked ways because they don’t realize their wickedness. They are just “every man doing what is right in their own eyes.” And as we all know, we can rationalize anything we want to do.

We need a standard of what is right and what is wrong. Oh yeah, we have that already – it’s the Bible.

But back to my main point, this scripture is spoken to us. To the church. To the spiritual warrior in the pew.

My second point: We got wicked ways.

I’m not going to get into a great discussion regarding what these ways are; but they all boil down to one thing: anything having our allegiance that is not God himself is wicked for the believer.

If we are trusting in anything other than the Savior who loved us, gave his life for us, rose from the dead and lives, making intercession for us constantly at the throne of God, then it’s like a slap in the face to Him.

It’s like saying what You did isn’t enough for me, I need, want or desire                  , too. (You fill in the blank.)

Wicked.

It’s time to stop and turn back.
