Precious? Or Offensive? ... Advent Reflections

BECAUSE HE CAME ... I HAVE A CORNERSTONE UPON WHICH TO BUILD MY LIFE.

Matthew 21:42 (NKJV)

Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:
‘The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
This was the Lord’s doing,
And it is marvelous in our eyes’?

1 Peter 2:6-8 (NKJV)

Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,
“Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”
Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
“The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,”
and
“A stone of stumbling
And a rock of offense.”
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

So ... is He precious or offensive to you?  There's no sitting on the fence.  It's one or the other.

If He is precious to you ... what are you doing about it?

During the month of December, the Journey will be taking a hiatus. I'm adapting some of my 2012 series, "Because He Came" posts for your Advent reflections.

Short but sweet, these devotional thoughts pack a punch of scripture followed by the realization, "Hey! I only have this blessing because He came and dwelt among men!"
