AmaZing Mercy-filled Love

One of the most AmaZing things about God’s love is the mercy He extends to us. It is so marvelous!

among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—Ephesians 2:3-5 (ESV)

We deserved judgment; yet loving us so much, through His mercy He made a way for us to be alive in Christ. Saved by Grace.

There’s three things I love about mercy:

• Mercy – lasts forever

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!    For His mercy endures forever.Psalm 136:1 New King James Version (NKJV)

He doesn’t start out merciful and then give up. His mercy is without limits.

• Mercy – is long-suffering – another word for patient.

But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious,Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.  
Psalm 86:15 New King James Version (NKJV)

He’s patient with us by extending abundant mercy – He knows our nature and how prone we are to mess up.

                                                                                                                                                                                                   

• Mercy – fresh – new every morning!

The faithful love of the Lord never ends!His mercies never cease.Great is his faithfulness;his mercies begin afresh each morning.I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;therefore, I will hope in him!”Lamentations 3:22-24 New Living Translation (NLT)

I’m just a seeking heart who day after day on this journey receives mercy and faithful love from a never-ending supply.

Not because of who I am.

It’s because of who He is!
