AmaZing Consoling Love

Along our Journey, it’s a given we will all experience times of discouragement. Life is not a picnic, and we are not promised a smooth path.

What we are promised is a Guide who will never leave us or forsake us.

When we accept Christ as our Savior, He not only guides but loves us with a consoling love.

2 Thessalonians 2:16 New King James Version (NKJV)

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace,

Everlasting consolation … what does that mean?

Synonyms for console are: comfort, soothe, calm, relieve, support, solace, cheer up – as in raise somebody’s spirits.

He will do this for His children forever - everlastingly!

Sometimes God uses others to comfort - Sometimes you'll feel His Spirit comforting!

Some translations of 2 Thessalonians 2:16 say “eternal encouragement.” The ERV says “comfort that has no end.” I love the sound of comfort with no end!

What good news for someone like me who falls into wallowing in the depths of despair now and again!

He didn’t put any qualifiers on consolation.

You might think He would say, "What? I have to cheer her up again? No way. She is blessed and she should realize it" But no, again and again He will comfort and encourage! FOREVER.

He didn't say, "Well, she is innocent, so I'm going to encourage her and give her the tools she needs to get out of this mess."

Neither does He say:  "She jumped in that pit on her own, so it is on her to encourage herself - after she gets out, of course.”

Nope! He loves us with a comforting encouraging kind of love, relentlessly pursuing us and helping us to see the error of our ways. He loves us too much to leave us in a messed-up state.

He knows us intimately, knows our weaknesses and understands our natures.

He is bigger than any mess-up we can create.

Our own will is the only thing able to stop Him from being our Comforter and Encourager.

He won’t go where He is not wanted.

Don’t wait until it’s too late; when your life is over, and you could have had the testimony, “I walked every step of the way with Him as He helped and cheered me on my journey Home.”

Be encouraged on your journey Home to AmaZing Love. It. Will. Be. Worth. Everything!
