At that time you will say,
“Our Lord, we are thankful,
and we worship only you.
We will tell the nations
how glorious you are
and what you have done.
Because of your wonderful deeds
we will sing your praises
everywhere on earth.”
Sing, people of Zion!
Celebrate the greatness
of the holy Lord of Israel.
God is here to help you.
Isaiah 12:4-6 CEV
This weekend was Rory's first sleepover at MiMi and PaPa's.
She was so good and was sweetly accepting of the many kisses MiMi rained on her chubby little cheeks.
She did get a little testy at bedtime but was quickly lulled to sleep by some rocking and singing.
In fact, the only downer was when we tried fastening her into her car seat. We didn't know how to latch the bottom and as we tried and tried, full-blown wailing ensued. (Rory, not us!)
Thinking it over, I was so thankful because over 30 years ago, I could not imagine being a mother, much less a MiMi.
You see, my doctor had actually told me that without fertility treatments, she didn't see how a pregnancy would ever happen for me.
We were just stubborn enough to decide to rely on God instead of the treatments. (I am not against fertility treatments - we just did not feel they were for us.)
We focused on Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart."
We spent time learning what those words actually meant. We spent time at the altar. And God graciously answered.
Therefore, I should tell everyone what He has done!
He gloriously answered our prayer. He has done other mighty and glorious things.
I, for one, intend to spend my days telling about them.
