Daybook: 06.20.16

For Today, Monday, June 20th

Looking out my window I see bright sunny skies. We are experiencing a heat wave and the temps are predicted to be in the upper 90s for the next 15 days ...

I am thinking of everyone who attends my Sunday morning small group - otherwise known as Sunday School.

I am thankful for each one who attends my class and I love and pray for them. My vision is for us each one to be able to touch someone's life for the Lord.

One of my favorite things is to sit under a shade tree at the lake and feel a breeze. Ah! Contentment!

I am wearing a black tank dress with a bright turquoise-blue cardi. I've added black sandals and a necklace earring set I found yard-saling that matches the cardi perfectly. I love wearing a cardi over a tank dress - so cool and comfortable - and with a switch of a different color cardi and jewelry, you have a whole new look.

I am creating memories!

I am reading still reading FerVent by Priscilla Shirer, and also re-reading A Heart Like His by Beth Moore.

I am hoping to make better choices on the way I spend my time.

I am learning how precious time is to me.

In my kitchen tonight will be chicken and rice on the menu (I've chicken that needs to be used). Tomorrow, my son-in-law has requested slow-cooker lasagna. Yum! I'm not sure about the rest of the week, but I bet there will be tacos because he also loves those.

Shared Quote - on a perplexing subject ...

…”What drives people to injure themselves?  A failure to find God.”

A moment from my day

Closing Notes:

Happy Monday to my readers. I am hoping to have a week where there is both accomplishment and rest, praise and prayer. I'm working on doing something each night to prepare for the weekend. I've never been good at that but I really need to free up my weekends.

What are your goals for the week?

  1. Time, it will run you if you let it! There are never enough hours in a day. But it seems when we give it over to the Lord how we spend our time, more comes from those same small hours. I need to start going to bed earlier. Getting up on time. That's my short term goal.

  2. Not sure what your weekends consist of that you need to free up a bit, but if it is house cleaning or other chores, I find doing something "little" daily rather than a day for house cleaning makes it a lot easier to get it all done and still have plenty of weekend time for other things I want to do. I do a 20-30 minute chore daily Monday through Friday. Household is never completely clean at one time but never completely dirty at one time.

Be safe in the heat! I bet you guys will hope it doesn't extend more than 15 days!

  3. Creating memories is one of the single most important ways to spend our time wisely...it sounds like you are doing a great job at this and I need to do a better job at it! Thank you for the reminder that sometimes one needs to just step away from the everyday things and focus on those that are so important to us...
