Daybook: 05.16.16

For Today, Monday, May 16

Looking out my window, I wonder where Spring went. It looks and feels more like a fall day.

I am thinking once again, my to-do list is long enough we could wall paper  a room with it.

I am thankful to have a week off.

One of my favorite things is watching my grandkids faces - especially when they are concentrating on something. So adorable! Today, I was walking back and forth trying to get some steps in. (#fitbitobsessed) My little grandson soon was walking alongside me and when he slipped his little hand in mine, my heart melted.

I am wearing blue jean capris and my pink tee that says, "My husband rocks. (Since I'm off work this week, I can go casual. Can we say "no makeup?")

I am creating  a monster to-do list!

I am reading FERVENT by Priscilla Shirer. I just started it.  I'm excited about the book.

I am hoping to accomplish at least half of my to-do list this week.

I am learning I make my to-do lists too long!

In my kitchen since the day felt so chilly, I made Slow Cooker Creamy Tortellini Spinach and Chicken Soup.  I'm in love with the broth of this soup - so flavorful!

Shared Quote: Love this rendering of Romans 8:15-17 by Eugene Peterson:

Romans 8:15-17 The Message (MSG)

This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!

A moment from my day - from my last road trip.

Closing Notes:
This is turning out to be a weird week for me ... it will be interesting to see during the weekly wrap-up how it will end. Join me Friday to find out.

  1. Staycations usually end up being workcations for me too! I love that I can focus and get lots accomplished though. Hope your week is successful and you get some rest before going back to work. :)
Yes, it feels like fall. We had chili for dinner last night.

  2. I'm loving Josh Becker's call to a to-do list with just 3 things on it. Now THAT, I just might be able to do!

And I feel freed up in the process.

I love your little daybook entrees, friend!

  3. Such a pretty picture from your recent road trip, looks so serene there. I love having weeks off and not much to do with them but get some things done. They are relaxing.

  4. Well you now have me intrigued about your week. Enough to do list to wallpaper. Too funny. Maybe they are a wee bit too long...

  5. Good luck with your to do list. I took a week off in March, to do a bunch of spring cleaning. With hubby home all the time, I did not get much accomplished. I've always worked best home alone and nowadays, there is never any home alone time. Or if I do get a little, I'm so tickled I indulge in something fun instead of housework.
