Prayer Warrior

You might be a Christian, if you ... are a prayer warrior.

Of course, a Christian should pray and communicate with their Savior - I think that's a given, don't you?

When I say "prayer warrior" though, I'm talking about something more. I mean a person who has suited up with their spiritual armor and is ready to do battle against the enemy.

Spiritual armor? You may not be familiar with that term, so please come back on Friday, April 22nd, for our A-Z Challenge letter for the day, "S," when I will define it in depth.

For now, when I say suited up with their spiritual armor, I'm talking about using all the spiritual tools available to the Christian - things like truth, faith, and the Word of God.

You see, the Christian's enemy is not a flesh and blood adversary. Our enemy is satan and his demonic forces who hate God and everything for which He stands. Once you become a child of God that hatred now includes you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:8 NKJV)

However, don't be afraid! If you are on God's side, He is way big enough to take care of anything that comes against you.

For with God nothing will be impossible. (Luke 1:37 NKJV)

"... and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:20, Part B NKJV)

Your part is to pray.

I'm so glad you are here! Follow me each day as I attempt to define what a Christian is ... and isn't.

I'm always interested in your thoughts. Let me know if there is a word Christians use that you don't understand. I'd be interested to write about it.

This post was written for Day Sixteen of my A-Z Blogging Challenge series, "You Might Be a Christian ... from A-Z." Go here each day to see all of my posts each day as they go live.

  2. That's an interesting perspective on being a prayer warrior. I'll be mulling over it...

  3. "Your part is to pray." Just what I need to hear! Thanks. Sometimes when that's all we can do, we need those reminders that that is exactly enough.
