Daybook: 11.16.15

For Today... Monday, November 16th

Outside my window...rain and 45°

I am thinking... how on Friday's I've been known to fling my arms wide open and carol, "It's Friday, lovely Friday." Monday needs its own song, and I'm not talking about "Rainy days and Mondays get me down."

No, Mondays are also a good day, the beginning of what could be a fantastic week. I'll work on it and get back to you ...

I am thankful... for the air of expectancy at our church, I cannot tell you how excited I am to see what God is going to do!

I am wearing... black boots, leggings and a long tunic in shades of aqua and teal swirled together.

I am reading... "Glory Days" by Max Lucado. I can't quit talking about how good it is. You should read it.

In my kitchen... is this awesome soup simmering in my crockpot:  Slow Cooker  Creamy Tortellini Spinach and Chicken Soup. I feel like such an organized homemaker when I leave the house with dinner in the crockpot!

A favorite quote for today...

In An Unhurried lifeAlan Fadling writes, “When I found myself slowing down inside, the Lord seemed to say, ‘Don’t talk trust and live worry.’  [emphasis mine]... seen at Flourish!

A peek into one of my days...

Sunset Across the Road

One of my favorite things...

soft peppermints - and along that same line, I'm loving my sugar-free peppermint mocha coffee creamer right now ...

From the board room... I thought I would share that last week I did make

Freezer-to-slow cooker Italian wedding soup

It was good and easy, the only drawback was the broth was not as flavorful as I would like. I'm thinking I might combine this recipe with Edie Wadsworth's Italian Wedding Soup and see what happens!

  5. Awesome to have a positive start to the week. Lately mine haven't been. I hope to change that around though! :)
Organized Homemaker... that's a concept I haven't been a part of lately. I usually get back on that track after the holidays. I do have a month of menus planned out though. Could change now that I see this recipe you just posted! :) Love anything crockpot!
Hope you have a blessed week Jerralea!

  6. Hi Jerralea! I always feel so organized with dinner planned too! Love that Friday song...when you come up with a Monday one, be sure to let us all know :)
It's raining this morning, just a little thunder. It's a day I want to spend in bed, but I have much to do. Darn it! I am going to see my daughter tomorrow, to attend "Grandparents Day" at my granddaughter's school. What a hoot! I said I'd make dinner for the family, and maybe soup is just the thing. Soup and bread...yum!
(Your outfit sounds really cute, and I like soft peppermints too :) )
