V is for Vanilla Coffee Creamer and Verily

V is for vanilla, but being the extreme chocolate lovers that we are, my family doesn't eat that many vanilla desserts. But the girls and I do love flavored creamers in our coffee, and this vanilla flavored recipe is quick to whip up if we run out of creamer.

The recipe for Vanilla Coffee Creamer is from TheFrugalGirls.com and it is easy, homemade and uses just three ingredients. If you keep these ingredients in your pantry, you will always have creamer available.

I like always being prepared. I'm a former Girl Scout, you know.

V is also for verily, a word you don't hear much nowadays. It means truly, and in this age of so many not believing in an absolute truth, you can see why it is not used.

But just because a thing may not be believed, doesn't mean it's not true.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." John 5:24 KJV

Seems too simple, doesn't it? But these are the words of Jesus, and He should know. He not only says they are true but emphasizes it by repeating it. Here it is again in words we would use today:

"Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." ESV

If you truly believe, then you know Jesus is the Savior. Verily.

V is for Vanilla Coffee Creamer and Verily is another post from my series, Feasting Body and Soul from A-Z.  I believe family dinner is important and I also believe food for the soul is just as important. Join me each day as I explore feeding both.

  1. I love creamer in my coffee but gave it up because of calories :)

Verily is definitely a unique word but I do like how Jesus uses it.

  3. Hi Jerralea! You know, I used to only drink chocolate milkshakes, and then I widened out to vanilla. They are delicious! But yes, it widened me in more ways than one, so I had to back off of that :)

Truth, verily...it's all the same. A wonderful word!
    Blessings,
