So, I first I gave up sweet tea, which is like saying I gave up breathing. After a couple of months of waiting to see if I could keep it up without passing out, I then gave up sugar in my morning cuppa. Yes, now I put Truvia in my Irish Breakfast Tea. It's not as enjoyable, but hopefully I'll get used to it. Baby steps, people, baby steps ...
Now, time to widen my horizons. What kind of treat can I have that not only does not have sugar but limits flour?
I found a keeper!
Flourless chocolate chip muffins! Using just 5 ingredients - none of which are sugar or flour - you can make a yummy treat for your family.
It's the pièce de résistance (murmured in your best French accent) to your meal, if you will. One that you can feel good about feeding your family. And one that is fun to make because you use your blender!
The full name of this recipe is Flourless Peanut Butter Choclate Chip Mini Blender Muffins. Click on the link and go learn all about the yummy goodness of Averie Sunshine's wonderful recipe. You're welcome.
Even better than being flourless is being fearless.
Face it, today's world is enough to give one nightmares. (Why DO people listen to the news right before bedtime? Seems like a recipe for night terrors for sure ...) It is a scary world we live in, but as a believer, we know that a fearful disposition does not come from God.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
If you are bothered with fearful spirit, know it is not from God. Rebuke fear and dwell on the power and love God has given you - along with a sound mind. A calm self-controlled mind.
Wouldn't the One who gave His life for you want to give you these gifts? Be assured - God's got this!

Hi Jerralea .. good for you for taking some of those carbs out of your life .. I thankfully don't eat sugar, and I'm really not happy eating sweet things .. I too will be cutting right back.
ReplyDeleteI don't eat bread .. it's just the dairy now! Cheers Hilary
You are doing a good job keeping up with the letter a day challenge. Oh boy we are carb lovers over here, too. Good for you for trying to cut down.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for cutting out the sugar and reducing carbs! I need to do the same; I feel healthier when I do so :)
ReplyDeleteSo thankful God is totally in control; just have to remember it, especially in the middle of the night when I wake up and just lay there wondering...
betty
I'm always surpised to learn how many different way there are to cook food :-)
ReplyDeleteI gave up sweets for Lent and felt so much better. I felt horrible after eating too many cookies on Sunday. I'm quitting sweets again. I know you must feel better as well. And one of my favorite verses. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yesssss! Those look so good! I also love the flourless aspect. I'm totally on board with that.
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying these double whammy posts, where you give us two words for each letter. And while I can easily give up my bread, my sweat tea is hard to let go.
ReplyDeleteBut then again, being fearless is a challenge for me at times as well. Thanks for the encouragement! :)
Great thoughts on fear!! I have never tried flourless anything. These look interesting. It's got quite big name for little muffins. :)
