F.F.F. - 02.06.15

Today is a good day.  It is Friday (one of my favorite days) and it is time to reflect on another gift from God - seven days spent loving God, my family and life.

1. My first and most noteworthy praise for these last seven days is that today marks 39 years of being married. Yes, today is our anniversary, and I'm very thankful of 39 years of loving this guy. It was definitely love at first sight for us, but we made the choice to decide to love even when things got hard.

My favorite picture of us

2. This week, I tried a new recipe, Slow Cooker Twenty-Garlic Chicken, and it was awesome. I used boneless skinless chicken thighs. I took it in my lunch with a salad two different days and it. Was. So. Good.

3. Speaking of salads, I found my favorite Apple Cider Vinaigrette dressing made by Ken's in the store and snagged my own bottle. (I'd been looking for it a long time.) Then I used it when I made up a salad in a jar for my lunch.

It was like spring time in my mouth!

4. Today is also the twins 8 month birthday.  I love those guys soooooooo much!

I think Baylee is enthralled with the idea of driving!
5.  Quote of the week:

What we do ultimately proves what we believe…”
Kevin Kaiser (as seen on The Write Practice)

And so ends another week on the Journey.  How did your week go? Your words are important; leave a comment, or consider linking up a post of your own at Susanne's website, Living to Tell the Story.

  1. Good Friday afternoon Jerrelea! A very happy 39th wedding anniversary to you and your guy. That slow cooker chicken sounds good and I bet it makes the house smell really good, too. Those twins are so much fun! Have a wonderful weekend.

  2. So.much.garlic! Whenever I cook with garlic it fills the house and clings to us. I love it though. Maybe roasting it with the skin on helps with that? I can't imagine twenty cloves!

39 years! You are a blessed woman.

  3. Happy anniversary! Those of us who have been married fewer years find it so encouraging to see couples who are still together, loving each other and looking forward to what's to come. Cheers!

  6. Happy Anniversary, Jerralea. I hope today is a very special day for you and your husband.

I keep meaning to tell you that I love your new profile picture! That shade of blue is very becoming also.

Thank you for mentioning a few times here recently about encouraging others with snail mail. Thank you for that...the Holy Spirit was using it to convict. Today I started doing something about it. :)

  8. A very happy anniversary to you too! That is an amazing legacy for your family. Yummy, on the chicken. I have a recipe for 40 clove garlic chicken on my site that is made in a similar fashion. And no, it is not overwhelming with garlic. Not sure why it wouldn't be, but it's just delicious!
