Barn Collective #17

When Jim and I first noticed a barn quilt while out taking a road-trip one day, I was intrigued and started looking up info on them. I discovered some lists of local barn quilts, and one of them was on a road I passed at least once a week. But I never noticed the barn itself, let alone a barn quilt.

It just goes to show how familiar things become unnoticeable.  Once we knew of a possibility of another barn quilt, we went back to that road AND DROVE DOWN IT THREE TIMES before we saw it.

Here is a close-up of the quilt. Isn't it gorgeous?

I love the look of the weathered wood as a background for the quilt -- and I love the green field and trees as a background for the barn that has withstood the elements.

Someday, it will be green again!

Do you like barns?  You can see more great photos of barns at The Barn Collective link-up featured at Rose Street Reflections.

  1. Oh, I love this...love the green grass that is showing, love the old barn, and that barn quilt is fantastic. This is the second one I have seen on a blog that is so different to any I have ever seen.

  7. It is gorgeous. You are right ... the more familiar we are with an area, the less we know about the details. Thanks for finding this for us!

  10. These are very nice. How they keep them from getting ruined after all of that work?
