F.F.F. - 12.12.14

I hope you are having the merriest of Decembers!

Last week, too much was going on and I was unable to do a FFF post, and today is much the same. Yet I want to take a minute and give thanks for the awesome ways God shows up in my life.

1. The major thing that has been taking place the last couple weeks was that I totaled our vehicle. Again. By. Hitting. Another Deer. Ackkkk!  Why do those pesky deer want to cross the road every time they see me coming!

The fave, or highlight, in all this is that we did get a generous settlement from the insurance company and yet were able to buy back our old vehicle and get it fixed for $100. I'm not. Even. Kidding.  God loves me. The damage had been strictly cosmetic - yet it was totaled! - and now you can't tell it happened. Thank you, God, and the awesome body shop guy.

2. We bit the bullet and bought one of the newest vehicles we ever had. It's a 2013 Mazda CX-5.  I wanted to share pictures but the skies have been cloudy and gray ever since we got it. Maybe next week. So, we are back to being a two-car family, and for that, I am thankful.

3. Also during this time, the twins turned 6 months old. Each milestone in their lives is a huge blessing to us. Thank you, Jesus, for these wonderful grandbabies.

4.  Just let me say, I love ordering online and Amazon prime. That is all.

5.  I've been asked to do something that is pretty scary for me. It is an honor to be asked, so I'm thankful for that.  I'll let you know next week if I made it through it!

And so ends another week on the Journey. How did YOUR week go?  Leave a comment and share, or consider linking up at our lovely hostess' blog, Living to Tell the Story.

  1. Oh my, deer are so dangerous in the road. I'm glad just your vehicle was totaled. The area our 2nd son lives in is treacherous for deer causing accidents. Those twins of yours are just so sweet!

  3. We survived living in Montana and never hit a deer, yet knew lots of people that did. Only had one encounter when I was driving some place and saw a deer crossing the road in front of me. I slowed down because I'm sure God told me this "when there is one, there is two" and sure enough another deer crossed and I was able to avoid hitting it. I'm glad you got a good settlement though and everything worked out vehicle wise!

  4. Oh no! So sorry about the car! Last yr, while turning into the parking lot (on ice), we slid, right into the curb. It cost nearly $2700 to get it fix (thankful for insurance!). I can't believe the grands are 6 months! Beautiful!

Hmm...I am very curious and can't wait to hear your news. Blessings

  5. Glad that your vehicle situation worked out and most happy you were not hurt. Those sweet babies! I'm sure you are excited about their arrival next week! :)
Shopping online is my favorite way to shop. I don't care for the hustle and bustle of the stores.
    Have a great weekend Jerralea!

  7. That settlement sounds very strange, but I'm thankful it turned out well for you. And those twins! So alert and curious. They look almost mobile, are they?

  8. Wow, what is up with them writing off the vehicle when it was just cosmetic? But a blessing for you indeed that the repair was only a hundred dollars! Those babies are getting cuter every day! Now you have me all curious about what you have been asked to do.
