Daybook: 12.01.14

FOR TODAY, the first Monday of December:

Outside my window... the sound of sleet hitting my windows.  Yesterday, the temps got up to 67°. Welcome to the heartland of America!

I am thinking... about how good God is - He just turned something that made me sad into a great blessing! (I'll share about it in a later post.)

I am thankful...for the beautiful life I've been given.

In the kitchen... it will just be Jim and I for dinner each night this week.  Time to come up with some things that we like to eat that Liss doesn't!

I am wearing... navy blue pants with a sparkly tunic in shades of blues covered up by a gray cardi

I am reading... Lisa Wingate's "The Story Teller," and Max Lucado's "You'll Get Through This."

Around the house...the wreaths are on the door and the Christmas centerpiece for the table is done ... not much else is decorated for Christmas yet.

I am pondering... the decision of getting another vehicle. We are asking God to lead us to the right vehicle and the right price.

A favorite quote for today...

"You're gonna get through this. It's not gonna be quick or painless, but you gotta believe God can use this mess for something good. So don't do anything foolish, but don't despair either."  ... Max Lucado in "You'll Get Through This"

One of my favorite things... right now, it's my heater under my desk!

A few plans for the rest of the week: some working ahead at my home office, and I want to create a Christmas banner for my dining area.

A peek into my day... latest pic of Baylee and her mama:

Aren't my girls adorable!

  2. Your girls are beautiful! It's cold here too! I am going home to build a fire! :)
Can't wait to be able to put up my tree. There is actually space for it this year.
I love Max. What a great author.
I need to work ahead at my office too. 2015 files need to be made and some cleaning done. I don't decorate my office, mostly because nobody ever comes in it.
Hope you stay warm. I will be praying for your car situation!

  4. Oh my goodness, your girls are adorable, so cute!! I have managed to drag the Christmas decorations out from under the stairs...that is as far as the decorating has gotten inside. I did fill my containers outside with greens and berries though! Have a great week!

  7. Your girls sure are adorable! All of my Christmas decorating is done...but my shopping isn't even close. I mean I have barely done anything!! I do this to myself every year. I should just proudly wear my procrastination...Max Lucado is a great author and always provokes my heart to change. Have a happy week!
