Daybook: 10.27.14

Outside my window... foggy and a forecast of 80°. Tomorrow we are supposed to get back to more seasonal temps of low 60s.

I am thinking... of how I'm going to dislike it being almost dark when I go home every night after this weekend's upcoming daylight savings time change. I like to spring forward but not so much the falling back ...

I am thankful... to have a job I like to return to after a vacation.

In the kitchen... probably some kind of pasta dish that is easy to help with getting back in the groove.

I am wearing...green paisley shirt with dark dress jeans and beige ballet flats.

I am creating...a 31 day series of posts, 31 Days of Life on the Journey.

I am reading...nothing right now.  Time to check out a new book!

I am looking forward to... Christmas with the babies!

Around the house...things are looking good.  Now to maintain everything!

I am pondering... several ongoing prayer needs for friends and family. I know God is able to show Himself strong in these situations.

A favorite quote for today...

If you don't try, of course, nothing will happen!

One of my favorite things... a beautiful fall day.  I've tons of pictures I will be sharing in upcoming posts.

A few plans for the rest of the week: getting back into the groove. Also, this is my last week for the 31 Day challenge, so I will be busy finishing up.

A peek into my day...

This picture was taken deep in the woods at Ferne Clyffe State Park.  It felt so quiet and sacred there, almost like an outdoor cathedral.

Here is the ceiling of our outdoor cathedral.  I could have stayed all day ...

The daybook is a concept created by Peggy Hostetler.  You can link up at her blog, The Simple Woman's Blog.

  1. it is warm here today too. I am really wanting the 60's because that is a little more fallish. I love sweaters, jeans, and boots. I liket he fall back because Mister works the homestead until dark. And the few months puts him inside sooner each day. A season of rest. ;)
Christmas? Oh good golly! I have only slightly been thinking of it but now that you mention it, I need to get busy planning! Hope you have a great week back at work.

  3. Oh...you get to spend Christmas with the babies! I am so excited for you, Jerralea. :)

I enjoyed your picture. There is a place not far from our home that gives me the same feelings of sacredness. The name is actually Cathedral State Park. My muscles can be so tense, but it only takes a couple of minutes of walking there in the forest and it all melts away.

  4. Such a pretty park! Christmas will be here before you know it! I too don't like it getting dark so early when we fall back.

  5. Lovely photos! I never mind the time changes. When I was working, I especially like the "fall back" because it gave me an extra hour of sleep. I also don't mind it getting darker in the evening. I like it lighter in the morning. Have a blessed day.
