As you know, I'm all about home, both my earthly one and my heavenly one.
I spend a lot of time thinking about home, decorating it, cleaning it, planning how to make it run more smoothly, and on and on. Let's not discuss how much is spent on home!
As believers, I think we should spend as much time preparing for Home as we do for home here on earth. How can we do that? Communicating with our Savior and reading the Word and learning about the One who made Home is key. Read of His love for us and His care, His attributes and characteristics. If He put so much effort into making us in earthly bodies for an earthly existence that vanishes like a vapor, how much more wonderful will our eternal bodies and Home be? Shouldn't spending eternity with the Master of the Universe be our focus?
The great thing is that Home is a free gift we receive when we accept the Lord as our Savior. Our efforts don't buy us property in Heaven. No earnest money, mortgages, Realtor fees, home inspections, taxes and insurance need ever be paid for the place He has went to prepare for us.
Have you been longing for a taste of Home?

Ahh, so refreshing to think of our ultimate home with no mortgage but a free gift! The older I get the more I yearn for my ultimate home!
ReplyDeleteyes! Our focus should be on Him and our eternal Home. But how hard is that? I actually prayed this morning asking forgiveness as I feel I've been putting THINGS (and even problems) before Him instead of resting in Him and His love and hope. And how refreshing to think about our eternal Home with no pain and fatigue and all of the other "stuff" :)
ReplyDeleteI do long for that taste of home. I believe it will be better than anything we have ever imagined.

When I was writing on this one I kept thinking about that verse "taste and see that the lord is good" or something like that.
