It has been a good week here on the Journey. I hope you've had a productive satisfying week as well.
I like to re-cap my week by recounting the highlights of the week that I can remember. Because the brain cells? They don't have as great short-term memory as they used to have. It's very easy to lose count of the days ...
1. Last Saturday was one of my favorite days. We did not have worship team practice and I had managed to do the bulletin ahead, so there was no trip to Missouri needed. I can't tell you how many times that has happened before. Like almost never! A free Saturday! What to do ... what to do ....
I enjoyed a morning at home, doing laundry and printing out photos of the grands. Then later that day, we headed to the lake for a little road trip. The only thing was ... it was colder than we thought! Here we were in shorts and sandals when arriving at the lake. It wasn't long before we were wishing for jeans, socks and tennis shoes and a light jacket. I guess fall truly is on the horizon. I still enjoyed being there and getting some new photos to add to my collection.
2. Easy-peasy meals: I did very well on meal-planning this week. So nice to come home every night knowing exactly what we are having and being sure I have all the ingredients!
3. Cooler weather all week. It's almost time to pack up the capris ... but I'm waiting a week or so to be sure.
4. I switched out some decorations to bring a touch of fall to my home. I love fall decor and am anxiously awaiting lighting candles.
5. Quote of the week: I saw where Mary DeMuth tweeted this scripture on twitter:
"Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut." Proverbs 10:19
Amen!
BONUS: The twins are now three months old, so I'm sharing a couple photos:
Is he about ready to crawl? |
Love this onesie on Baylee! |
And so ends another week on the Journey. How did YOUR week go? Leave a comment, or consider linking up at Susanne's blog, Living to Tell the Story.
I'm trying not to envy your coll temperatures! It's still pretty warm here in TN and will be for a while yet. I don't get enthused about putting fall stuff up until late September - hopefully then it will feel more fallish.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have an unexpected Sat. off! Sounds lime you used it well!
I need to be better about meal planning, for the reasons you mentioned.
Love that onesie!
Your grandchildren are so cute!
ReplyDeleteSadly, we had snow this week. It didn't stick and the forecast is for warm weather coming up.
Your lake pictures are very peaceful.
Thanks for the reminder about fall decorations! I was tempted to skip right to Christmas with our weather this week.
for some reason your pictures aren't loading for me, going to get on my phone and take a peek!
ReplyDeleteLove it when the menu makes a week go so much smoother. We are having chili tonight because of the turn in the weather has made us crave it! :) Off to see your pictures! Have a great weekend (it will be cool by the way) :)
Glad you had a free Saturday and you have cooler weather. It's great to see photos of the twins growing. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat lake looks nice! I would enjoy a bit cooler weather, we are in the 90's for the next week or so :)
ReplyDeleteThose little babes are so adorable!
betty
finally got a computer that would load the pictures! They sure are growing! and so sweet!!! You are one lucky grandma! :)
ReplyDeleteomgoodness!! THREE Months already?? man, time really does fly, doesn't it? i love the photos. Yay for meal planning....i had wonderful meals planned as well and then my husband decided to have a heart attack right as he walked in from work on Tuesday so let's just say our week has been a whirlwind. Thus the reason I did no FFF this week. He is fine now, on lots of meds but back at home after 3 days in hospital.
ReplyDeleteA Saturday with no commitments is pure heaven! Glad you were able to enjoy one. It is definitely feeling fallish around here! Some of Alberta even saw a crazy snow storm last week that brought some major damage to trees and power lines in Calgary. I've sadly already packed away tank tops and cooler shorts but haven't yet brought myself to pack away walking shorts and capris.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have a relaxing Saturday! This is our first Fall outside of California and I was surprised how crisp the morning air's gotten already. I can't wait to pull out all my Autumn decor next week. :)
ReplyDeleteTwinsies are so much fun- What darlings! :)
Oh those babies are adorable! Keep posting photos!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like the lake is one of your usual favorite relaxation spots. I can see why. Love it!
Cooler weather? Huh? It's really really hot here still... please send rain.
