F.F.F. - 09.05.14

It's almost here - fall only has 17 more days until the autumnal equinox!  In my area, the forecast shows today as being the last day in the 90s for awhile.  The next two weeks are supposed to be high 70s or low 80s, so you know what one of my favorites next week will be!

However, right now it is time to reflect on the blessings this past week brought.

1.  Sometimes, it is the little things.  My vincas looked so pretty in their bucket planters.  I knew you'd want to see them!

Still loving my Welcome Bench - a yard sale treasure!

2.  Saturday was a good day:  Lunch with our youngest and things accomplished at home.  I love days like that!

3. Monday, of course, was Labor Day here in the United States. I was off work and spent the entire day at home. We grilled out and had our oldest daughter over for dinner. One of my favorite kind of days!

4.  Thursday was our middle daughter's birthday.  While we didn't get to be with her, I enjoyed pictures of her and the babies.  I am thankful for the wife and mother she has become.

Sometimes it is hard to believe that this girl:

was once my little girl!

Well, she will always be my little girl ...

5. Quote of the week:

I love Zephaniah 3:17 where it talks about God singing over His children with joy, but it also says this:

"... He will create calm with his love ..." Zephaniah 3:17 (Common English Bible)

What a blessing that whenever all seems chaotic we can focus on His love and we will become calm. After all, we know if we are His child, He loves us, everything will work out.

And so ends another week on the Journey.  How did your week go?  Leave a comment, or consider joining the group who links up at the lovely Susanne's blog, Living to Tell the Story, and share your favorite five.

  2. Yippee for cooler temperatures! I get so much more done when it's cooler. Glad you can have quick access to photos of the twins in this day and age. So sweet!

  3. I started to post a comment but it disappeared! I think my iPad is acting up. Lol. Your list of faves is great....precious grand babies and the scripture from Zephaniah is one of my faves, I really needed your words about it this afternoon. Thank you!! Have a restful weekend.

  5. Your vincas do look lovely! I had some in hanging baskets, but none of them are doing well - they're near a bird feeder and the birds seem to be using them for take-off and landing. That's never happened before, at least not to the extant that they interfered with plant growth!

Sounds like you've had a wonderful week! Happy birthday to your daughter!

  6. Happy birthday to your daughter! She's grown into a lovely young woman. Love your little planters. Around here when temps are in the '80's it is hot for us. I can't imagine being happy for it to "cool down" to that. Last week the evening temps have actually got down to the '40's for us and in the mountains there was lots of yellow foliage.

  8. Loved seeing those grandbabies. My oldest baby will be 21 tomorrow. You are right. How did that happen? But it is all good.

  9. A good reminder with that verse, Jerri. The love He has for us is hard to comprehend fully.

Isn't it wonderful to be able to share photos so easily these days? Your vincas are a thing of beauty. As are those darling babies. Happy birthday to their mother ;-)
