Daybook: 09.15.14

FOR TODAY, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th

Outside my window... brisk weather at 59°.  I love it - feels so invigorating.

I am thinking... about when I first got the internet on my computer and a chat program I came across:  ICQ. Anyone remember that?  I think of it in my mind like this:  I seek you. At that time, I was looking for friends to talk to, but now it occurs to me that I can think of it as "I seek You, my ultimate Friend." My aim is to seek Him in every spare moment of thought. "ICQ JESUS 24/7" Wouldn't that make a great bumper sticker? Or a cute chalkboard sign ... hmm....

I am thankful...beyond measure for the life I've been given. Yes, there have been uncomfortable days, struggles even, but for the most part it's been a joy and a blessing I don't take lightly.

In the kitchen... how far I've fallen from the "menu-planning domestic goddess" I was last week.  I do not know what I'm making for dinner today.  *Sigh ...

I am wearing... navy pants and a coral long-sleeved drapey kind of tunic.  I don't know how to describe it but it is comfy and cute and I've been waiting for months to get to wear it.  I purchased it when I was in Colorado.

I am creating...a haven for those cold blustery days that come this time of year.

I am reading... the Nester's book, "The Nesting Place:  It Doesn't Have to be Perfect to be Beautiful." Love it.

I am looking forward to... making my first batch of Chipotle-Pumpkin (with chicken and barley) soup.  I love this stuff!  I've already made my first batch of chili for the season. ;)

I am learning how much I love pinning recipes to Pinterest so I can find them again!

Around the house... the fragrance of baked cinnamon buns in my wax burner.  Smells divine.

I am pondering... what I can do to make Christmas special this year for our twin grands. They will only be 6 months old ...

A favorite quote for today...

“See a need, do a deed”
… Sarah Knackal
Seen on the blog “Morganize with Me.”

One of my favorite things... getting out my dress jeans, boots and scarves to wear.  I love fall wardrobes!

A few plans for the rest of the week: board meeting Thursday and another free day on Saturday. I foresee a road trip in my future.

A peek into my day...

Look at those cool bottles!

  1. I am right there with you, Jerralea, when it comes to having menu planning in control one week and being far from it the following week. I am growing tired, I believe. ;)

Those grands of yours are so so precious! Will you all get to be together for Christmas this year?

Have a wonderful week, my friend.

  3. Those are cool bottles! Of course they won't remember anything of this first Christmas, but I think them seeing light displays, especially animated ones they would enjoy watching. I envy your 59 degrees; we were reverse that today :)

  4. I totally remember ICQ! I talked to so many random people. Probably not safe considering I was just a preteen!

I love Fall Wardrobes too. Definitely my favorite season to dress for.

Those are the coolest bottles ever :)

  5. I have to say, even after being in the child care business for 24 years I have never seen bottles like those. What a cute picture it makes with the two of them. I have a love/hate relationship with menu planning and am very fickle with it.

  6. I've not seen bottles like that! Very interesting. I'm hoping to get out my jeans and fall clothes soon. Right now, it's still capris and shorts. Have a great week!
